These Grapes Are Very Sour

I’m sure you are absolutely shocked to learn that Donald Trump was not amused to be the butt of everyone’s jokes at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

At the event, Obama made light of Trump’s repeated calls for him to release his birth certificate, something he did Wednesday, and Meyers made fun of everything from his hair to his presidential ambition. Although Trump appeared unamused during Saturday’s dinner, he said he was honored “in a certain way” to be a focal point.

“I really knew what I was getting into last night. I had no idea it would be to that extent where, you know just joke after joke after joke,” the mogul said. “It was almost like, is there anyone else they can talk about?”

He also found the event “inappropriate in certain respects” and spent the evening thinking about how “the American people are really suffering and we’re all having a good time.”

And what was his assessment of Meyers’ comedic timing?

“His (Meyers) delivery was not good. He’s a stutterer and he really was having a hard time,” Trump said of the “Saturday Night Live” star.

A lot of people think Trump’s flirtation with the Tea Party is some kind of publicity stunt to enhance his ratings for his lousy show. The problem is that his show is losing audience rapidly and his words are having a negative effect on his reputation. I don’t understand why someone with so many branded products would flirt with fringe political beliefs in such a public way unless they were sincere. I guess only time will tell.

The relevant part here is that you do not piss off the president. Political opposition comes with the job but buzzing around like an anoying gnat to grab a bunch of free publicity for personal gain is not acceptable. I was so glad to see the president put this guy in his place.

You need to have a very thick skin to be President and Trump is as brittle as they come. President Obama was the butt of many of Meyer’s jokes and he laughed along with the crowd. It would be hard to imagine a Pres. Trump giving a self-deprecating comedic speech about himself at the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Ha! Trump, like Palin, has soiled his name beyond repair. Actually, he’s somewhat lucky that OBL’s death came when it did since most of the news today would have been the obituary of his political aspirations after the correspondence dinner.

The good news is I hear that David Duke’s looking for a few bad men.

Wonder if the apprentice will be back?

Trump never understood how completely dispensable he was… to everyone. He’s the modern day Linda Tripp.
