Monday Open Thread

Filed in National by on June 6, 2011

Monday and we’re all back to work, even the intrepid UI. If my own experience returning to work from vacation is any guide, she’s underwater today, so I’ll post up today’s Open Thread.

Republicans are hoping mad over this ad from the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (You should be on their email list. And if you are on their email list, you should contribute to these guys to help them do their work. The monthly contribution I made for Democracy Bonds to the Democratic Party when Howard Dean was in charge now goes to these guys.) :

Now you see why the Republicans have been protesting furiously to Comcast and to the station this is to be aired on (WMUR) about this ad, arguing that their plan does not end Medicare and that the ad is false and seeks to just scare people. Yes, *this* choice bit of protest is coming from Republicans.

Meaning that they are genuinely spooked on this one. (Greg Sargent has part of the letter from the NRCC.) It’s a great ad, too. Comcast has said they are not going to interfere with the airing of the ad and no word yet from WMUR.
