Once a century, a Fox News anchor gets it right. Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly had the disgustingly evil radio talk show host Mike Gallagher on her show this afternoon, and she played back audio from the time when he said on his show: “Megyn’s still on maternity leave, isn’t she? Boy, what a racket that is.”

And if you cannot possibly stomach watching even good stuff on Fox News air, here is the transcript:

Megyn Kelly: What a moronic thing to say.
Mike Gallagher: Well, I mean, let’s— Are you going to disagree that’s there a diff—
MK: Oh, you’re standing by? Are you doubling down? No, no, no, no, no, are you not taking those remarks back? Is maternity leave, according to you, a racket?
MG: Well, do men get maternity leaves?
MK: Guess what honey? Yes, they do. It’s called Family Medical Leave Act. If men would like to take three months off to take care of their newborn baby, they can.
MK: OK. Let me give you an explanation. I was drinking that day.
MK: Now you’re more along the path I expected. […]
MK: Just in case you didn’t know, Mike, I want you to know that the United States is the only country in the advanced world that doesn’t require paid maternity leave. Now I happen to work for a nice employer that gave me paid leave. But the United States is the only advanced country that doesn’t require paid leave. If anything, the United States is in the dark ages when it comes to maternity leave. And what is it about carrying a baby for nine months, that you don’t think deserves a few months off so bonding and recovery can take place, hmm?
MG: I have a— I even think a— People on your staff— [bullshit about trying to call Megyn on the phone or something]
MK: You can’t answer the question because there is no answer, my friend.

Megyn Kelly will be condemned tomorrow as a Femninazi by Rush Limbaugh. Mark my words.

  1. Rusty Dils says:

Keep in mind, many, many, many of us conservatives don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh, and think he is an idiot. You may not have know this fact.

  2. Another Mike says:

Did Ms. Kelly mention that the FMLA was introduced into Congress every session beginning in 1985 and did not become law until 1993 under Fox News’ favorite Democrat, Bill Clinton? The legislation did not make it out of Congress in the early years, defeated by business interests that predicted the end of the world as they knew it, and was twice vetoed by George Bush — in 1991 and ’92.

  3. socialistic ben says:

rusty, Rush Limbaugh has the highest rated radio show… ever. Taken into account that maybe a small percentage of his listeners are Keith Olberman’s writing staff looking for things to be mad at, the vast majority are conservatives grunting and snorting in joy and agreement with the pig.

  4. skeptic says:

However, watch the Daily Show from last night (8/11) and you will see that she too is just another Faux News hypocrite, as she bitched and moaned about this “entitlement” herself some time in the past.
