We just experienced a strong wind micro-burst in Hockessin. Trees down all over the place. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be a tornado (although I didn’t see one).

  2. Delaware Dem says:

Yeah, puck, the radar looks bad. I am up in Philly right now, and the storm is just now hitting.

  3. skippertee says:

It looked so bad in Newark, I hid in the basement.
    Well, took shelter.

  4. wilmington at work says:

The tornado warning sirens were sounding off in Wilmington. Unfortunately, NO ONE in my building here at work knew what they were!!! Shouldn’t the public be educated on tornado sirens???

  5. skippertee says:

What do “tornado” sirens sound like?
Are they different from your average “siren” sound?

  6. Delaware Dem says:

I have heard it before. It is not your ordinary fire station alarm. But it also doesn’t sound like an air raid siren like they have out in the mid west and south. I have videotaped the siren beore, and will post it later tonight.

first floor of my building had a major sewage backup . i work in the basement. joy.

  8. anonone says:

    It is Obama’s fault, SB.

  9. Delaware Dem says:

You know, we contributors to DL get emails telling us when someone comments on our posts. And I saw that anonone posted and I immediately thought to myself “Self, I bet A1 is going to say the storm is Obama’s fault.” I laughed at that notion, because surely A1 was not that much of a one note wonder.

  10. Miscreant says:

    “It is Obama’s fault,…”

    Probably.
But, rest assured, Bush (and/or the Tea Party) will get full credit.

  11. puck says:

I support the thunderstorm. Because if you don’t, we will get a hurricane instead.

  12. socialistic ben says:

    heh
scenario in which a1 can blame obama, and i can blame the tea party.

since the place I work is partially subsidized by the government, one could make the case that vital structural fixes could have been made if money that the Tbaggers didnt block was allowed to be spent. it is obama’s fault for not fighting harder, or making himself dictator to override them or whatever he’s supposed to do.

  13. skippertee says:

“Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets.”-Travis Bickle, TAXI DRIVER. I wish it would wash away the TEA-BAGGERS!

  14. DEIdealist says:

The Wilmington Sirens were accompanied by a loudspeaker warning people to take shelter….then also alerting everyone when it was all clear.

  15. Delaware Dem says:

Here is the tornado siren in Wilmington. I am looking west, and the city skyline is beyond those trees.

Hmmmm….I would have thought the ice cream man’s recording went faulty.
