Glen Urquhart Endorsed By Pete DuPont and Dale Wolf (in his fevered teabag imagination)

Filed in National by on January 5, 2012

Hoo boy. In the GOP primary for the new 6th Senate District…. “(Urquhart) told the Cape Gazette, the local newspaper, that he was being endorsed by Pete du Pont, the former governor with iconic status among Republicans.”

Turns out… not so much. du Pont said he’d endorse the teabagus maximus when and if he ran against a Democrat in the general. Urquhart also said he was endorsed by former Lt. Governor Dale Wolf. What did Wolf say?

“”I want to be very clear that I have not endorsed Mr. Urquhart, and at this particular time, I have not endorsed either candidate,” Wolf wrote.”

What a clown Urquhart is. Of course that probably makes him the front runner in the primary. And don’t get me wrong, I’d love for Urq to beat Lopez in the primary, thereby making Andy Stanton a shoe in. I’d love it, but 6th district Republicans would have to be absolute morons to let it come to pass.

Your read of the 6th district race is wrong.

If Urquhart wins the primary, Staton wins easily.

If Lopez wins, Staton wins but not by much.

  2. MJ says:

Urkel still needs to answer why he’s using one hour of free air time on the Fatman’s show each Wednesday to campaign for office when supposedly he’s there as the chair of the Sussex Confederate party.

  3. socialistic ben says:

because it is a fringe wingnut show that only teahadis, who dont respect the law, take seriously, so they can fantasize about the coming race war. Fatty is a total waste of everything(time, space, carbon) and so is urkel. They mean absolutely nothing past the reach of the broadcast tower and very little within it.

Urq is a one dangerous mind. I remember during Vietnam, the peace people challenging ole Pete about war in Cambodia, and him denying it. He is truly a thug with no concience, so good luck Urq thinking you get any play with one of wealthiest families in the country giving you aid and comfort.

  5. Anon says:

I hear that Dupont will simply NOT endorse if Staton is the D, simply because Staton is a Leadership Delaware fellow, placing Dupont at odds with his party and his foundational ties.

I’m surprised Celia didn’t track down the story about the non endorsements by John III and Michele Rollins. Urquhart was bragging that they were endorsing him but when he went begging to J III for the actual endorsement, he got shot down because he failed to mention that he had a primary. Right after that, Urquhart’s buddy Bill Colley went on WGMD screaming that Lopez was the New Castle County establishment candidate that J III and Michele “handpicked.”

By the time Urquhart and Colley are done with Lopez, there won’t be anything left of him.

I’m not sad to hear that. Guys like Mike Castle and Dave Burris created this monstrosity.

There were plenty of times that the so-called “reasonable” republicans could have disciplined the nut-bags, but they were useful nut-bags, so they nourished them and grew them thinking that they would always be able to leash them in.

  8. anonjr. says:

No, there was only one GOPer who wanted to roll out the red carpet for the tea party nutbags like Urquhart, and that was Charlie Copeland.

  9. MJ says:

I don’t think the Fatman has ever had a Hispanic on his show. I know he rants about the signs in Walmart being bilingual.

  10. anonjr. says:

Colley’s racism drove Kevin Andrande, who did a bilingual show on WGMD on the weekends, to another station.

  11. Aoine says:

Actually Kevin Andrade BOUGHT the station he has his show on – more than the Fatman will ever acconpmlish.

But then Kevin works two jobs – runs two buisnesses and is involved in raising money for the community and charity causes.

Fatman has been here his entire life and has not accomplished HALF of what Kevin has done – Kevin has been here about 12 years and didn’t speak English when he arrived, but is now a successful businessman. Fatman sits arounds all day and bitches and whines about what is wrong with America and everyone that disagrees with him. Kevin took all the opportunities offered and turned himself into a success with hard work.

No wonder Fatman hates Hispanics and immigrants. He cant uummmm, measure up.

  12. Miscreant says:

Andrande did a good show, and what a nice contrast to the rest of the crap on WGMD. It was a good way to tune up my EspaƱol. What station is he on now?

  13. Miscreant says:

Thanks for the link (and the spell check).

  14. Aoine says:

@Mis – he is usually on in the AM weekdays with Romina and Pepito and other guests – so the show is bi-lingual and sometimes Spanglish…

    Enjoy!
