When Mitt Romney Came To Town – Absolutely Devastating
If you haven’t watched Newt Gingrich’s Super Pac Ad… watch it now. It is absolutely devastating. Ed Kilgore describes is as “one of the most devilishly effective attack communications I’ve personally ever seen–a heat-seeking missile aimed directly at the white orking class id.”
Will the Teabagger Congress Reauthorize VAWA?
Yesterday, Attorney General Beau Biden, along with all of his counterparts across the country, called on Congress to re-authorize the Violence Against Women Act (“VAWA”). Biden’s father, Vice President Joe Biden, drafted and sponsorsed the bill back in 1994, and he frequently points to it as one of his best accomplishments as legislator. Indeed, the National Organization for Women described the bill as “the greatest breakthrough in civil rights for women in nearly two decades.”
But will VAWA be taken hostage by the radical right, or will they reauthorize it at all?

The committees met on Wednesday, and the results can be seen on both today’s Senate Agenda and House Agenda. Other than the ‘bath salts’ ban, which is the only bill on the Senate agenda, very little piques my interest today.

Why Does Mitt Romney Want To Be President?
During the GOP debate last Sunday Mr. Pandora asked, “What is Romney’s Plan? What is his vision?” I opened my mouth to answer, but I had nothing. He went on to say, “Romney is incapable of specifics.”

While the legislative season didn’t exactly kick off with a bang, the political Hot Stove League was in full blast mode in Dover. House Minority Leader Greg Lavelle, who had already told colleagues that he would not run for reelection to the House, announced that he would seek the 4th Senatorial District seat currently held by Sen. Michael Katz (D-Centreville). More surprising was the announcement that Rep. Dennis E. Williams from Brandywine Hundred is facing a primary challenger.
What’s Ron Paul’s Delegate Plan?
Since the Tea Party and the Christian Coalition can’t get their act together, and have proven they aren’t a force to be reckoned with, we move onto the only candidate that can throw a monkey wrench in Romney’s inevitable nomination.

New Hampshire Primary Open Thread
Post your predictions and reactions here! The expectation game: Romney’s hoping to break 40%, Huntsman and Paul are jockeying for second, and Santorum could lose momentum if he fails to beat Gingrich (and vice versa). As for Rick Perry, if he beats anyone, it’ll be a surprise.

Delaware General Assembly Pre-Game Show: Tues., Jan. 10, 2012
In January, legislators’ thoughts turn to…bath salts. And reelection. And with the ‘honorables’ back in Dover for the not-so-spring training portion of the legislative schedule, the banning of bath salts is the one certainty awaiting them.
