Good one. No this is called the Eleutherian Mills, which is on the grounds of the Hagley Museum in Montchanin. The estate was built in 1803 by E.I duPont, and was the home of five generations of the duPont family.
This… is the vampire’s nest of Delaware, as it were.
Hagley Museum, as well as the “new” Montchanin (19710) Post Office, now in Breck’s Mill, are located in Greenville. Montchanin begins roughly at Carpenter’s Row & ends at the state line as one heads north on DE 100/Montchanin Rd. The ZIP code maps for this area are crazy, probably due to the influence of the duPont family in the last century.
If anyone cares, the duPont family cemetery is on the same chunk of property.
