Delaware Liberal Tracking Poll Results — Jeff Cragg

Filed in Delaware by on March 1, 2012

You people are harsh. Jeff Cragg is still basically unknown to almost all of Delaware, including the politically knowledgeable that read DL. All we know about him is that he is a businessman who is a conservative Republican. And that was enough to give him 48% disapproval rating. 24% just don’t know enough about him to make any judgments. 28% approve of him.

As an aside, Mr. Cragg bears a striking resemblance to myself, so much so that I feel compelled to declare that I am not Jeff Cragg and I am not running for Governor as a Republican.

I think Cragg and Sher Valenzuela, the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor whom we are polling on today, are good test cases to see exactly how damaged the GOP brand is in Delaware. If you are already a well known politician and office holder, like Tom Wagner and Tom Kovach, you get individual high marks. If you are not, you are just labeled a Republican and disapproved of accordingly.

Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Jeff Cragg (R)?

Strongly Unfavorable — 30%
Undecided / Unsure — 24%
Strongly Favorable — 20%
Unfavorable — 18%
Favorable — 8%

Total Votes: 50. Started: February 29, 2012

As I said, today we are polling on Sher Valenzeula. We know even less about her then we do about Jeff Cragg. Here is what we do know:

Valenzuela is the co-owner and Vice President of First State Manufacturing, Inc. She was previously a nationally syndicated columnist, published feature writer for several daily newspapers, and a daily editor for Delaware State News.
