The Last 24 Hours….

Filed in National by on March 1, 2012

You will not find a more concise summary. Every time we think we have reached Peak Wingnut, we have the nerve to act surprised when we reach the next Peak Wingnut…

For those who are still in denial about the extremism of modern-day Republicans, the past week—hell, the past 24 hours—should have been a cold slap in the face, a big jolt of reality. Rush Limbaugh, praised for years by Republicans, declared an honorary member of the House freshman class in the Contract with America year of 1994, pal to Dick Cheney all through his time as vice president, attacks an advocate of contraceptive coverage as a slut and a prostitute and, after being criticized, doubles down, demanding that the woman “post [sex] videos online” in return for contraceptive coverage. Sheriff Joe Arpaio, honorary Arizona co-chair of Mitt Romney’s 2008 campaign, backer of Rick Perry last fall until he dropped out of the race, object of the entreaties of Rick Santorum, holds a press conference today to reassert that the long-form Obama birth certificate is a fake. (Santorum, when he met with Arpaio last week, was briefed on Arpaio’s birther “investigation” and didn’t immediately distance himself from the sheriff.) Oh, and what else? Nearly every Republican senator voted for the Blunt amendment? Andrew Breitbart died and much of the right concluded that President Obama murdered him? And, five days ago, Rick Santorum declared that anyone who wants more Americans to have access to college is a “snob”?

…. and our job is to publish and republish these each time we see them, preventing them from quietly being swept under the rug…

The more we do, the harder it becomes for people like Hube, David Anderson, or even people like Kevin Wade, to walk out into the vast majority of society and call themselves Republicans… 🙂

  2. Jason330 says:

Don’t kid yourself Kavips. I’m quite sure Hube, David Andersen and Kevin Wade could each articulate why the items listed above are perfectly reasonable. Their rationalizations would make perfect sense to them, and they would be confused by the fact that you don’t grasp simple truths that are right in front of your face.

The alternate reality fields generated by each Republican through a combination of racism, sexual frustration and massive cognitive dissonance are getting more dense with every passing day.

The only way to respond to this behavior is the thump them in November, rinse and repeat. After a decade or two they might get the message.

Jason sounds like every angry liberal I know. Same words, same phrases, same feelings superiority.

And you are one of the angriest commenters here. With the same words, the same phrases, the same feelings of superiority. For you, however, it is all a part of the coloration you take on from your Fox News handlers.

There is a topic here, and you need to be on it.

Auntie Dem, While “thump them in November” is necessary the apathy of D voters is the fount of frustration; 2010 anyone? The electorate needs a blank slap to wake them from the radio propaganda and the numbing murmur from MSM to pull them from their slumber and introduce them to their failing democracy.
p.s. I wrote “blank slap” without intent of omitting the word bitch. I’ve never “bitch slapped” nor “sucker punched” anyone. I use the word “blank” because the efforts of D voters denote unwillingness to accept responsibility for their inaction, being blank.

So why exactly do taxpayers need to pay for Fluke’s birth control?
I thought that liberals wanted the government OUT of the bedroom?
Yet, our president called the girl personally and encouraged her for her bravery. Winning The Future? WTF?

  9. Joe Cass says:

ob3ygiant, it is a health care issue. Maybe talk to your mom about women parts to understand the intricacies of the uterus. If you don’t have a mother there is always wikipedia. And Fox News, I found a bunch of mothers over there.
