‘Law-Abiding’ Rep. John Atkins Reverts to Form

Pulled over for speeding, then lying about the consequences. Someone should ask Pete Schwartzkopf whether enabling this chronic miscreant is worth it. Wait a minute, I'm asking that question. But first, the latest antics from Sussex County's 'Bad Boy'. The News-Journal's (buy it to read the story) Maureen Milford reports that, after being stopped for speeding on his way to Dover, and being let off with a warning....

Republicans Should Have Learned The Komen Lesson

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.
That. Is. Not. An. Apology. What that is the classic: Sorry, if you can't take a joke. I was just being humorous, but you're too sensitive to have a sense of humor. I was simply making a very important, bigger point, that you're too stupid to understand. An apology isn't an apology if you can fit in the word "but." Go ahead and add that word after Rush's first sentence. It fits beautifully. And the backlash that's building around this situation has much in common with the Komen fiasco. Attack women, or an institution women love, and face the consequences. 2012 is shaping up to be the year of the woman.

Wilmington City Council vs. Newark Charter School

Anyone else get the feeling that education in Delaware is about to explode? Personally, I'd like to slow the entire Charter (and Choice) train down. I can't keep up, and can't shake the feeling that these Charters and our legislators are privy to information that the rest of read only after the deal is done. Basically, I'm not supposed to keep up or catch up. Meanwhile, things are moving forward in City government.

Friday Open Thread [3.2.12]

If you listen to any Republican or the Conservative Media, you would think Israelis thirst for war with Iran, and that they hate President Obama with the intensity of a thousand white hot suns. Wrong again. A recent poll shows that, while the Government of Israel is a neocon experiment in lunancy and fascism, the people of Israel are just as pluralistic and divided as we Americans are, and it is high time broad brushes were laid down.

Delaware Political Weekly-Feb. 25-March 2, 2012

The Democrats have a candidate, and one who appears to be quite credible at that, in the newly-relocated 11th Representative District. The four Republican candidates for President met last week's filing deadline. The primary is on Saturday, April 24. New Castle County Executive Paul Clark has two primary opponents, which he likes. And once again, we have the Return of the Rasslin' Barrister: Ron Poliquin.

Delaware Liberal Tracking Poll Results — Sher Valenzuela

Not many people voted in this poll, probably because they are confused as to why misspelled Cher's name. Obviously, Sher Valenzuela, the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor, has work to do in the name recognition department. 42% are unsure or undecided. 32% gave her a strongly unfavorable rating, and overall, she has a 48% unfavorable rating, which has to be just the generic unfavorable rating the Republican Party enjoys in the State of Delaware. Boy, you guys really destroyed your party and brand in the First State.
