The NJ has a new reporter and he made Jim Romenesko’s blog by launching off a press release (to his own Tumblr and blog only, to be fair)about his new gig.

So what is an Enterprise reporter, anyway?

  2. jason330 says:

“So what is an Enterprise reporter, anyway?”

Keeping tabs on Cpt. Kirk, Spock and the gang?

  3. cassandra m says:

I used to do that pretty obsessively. Had no idea there was money in it!

  4. puck says:

It’s just like an Enterprise blogger, only they post less often, and all their sources are verified.

  5. anon says:

Breaking: The reporter, who hadn’t even started yet, was just fired – he says for using the company’s logo and quoting from David Ledford’s hiring announcement email without permission.

The sad thing is people do this all the time on FB and in emails to friends and family. If he hadn’t (a) put it on his blog, (b) used the logo and quote, and (c) written it in the style of an official press release, he’d still have a job.

Oh, yeah, and (d) if the News Journal actually had a sense of humor.

Apparently he pissed people in the newsroom off by saying he was the “enterprise” reporter (someone who takes time to work on projects and do the big stories of the day, rather than covering a set beat) when he was actually going to be the night cops reporter (one of the cruddiest jobs in the newsroom).

He stepped on the wrong toes in that ego-infested hellhole.

  6. cassandra m says:

Wow. Now that’s pretty sad. Also considering that the NJ is trying to up its game in the Social Media space, it seems like a pretty big loss to them that they’d lose someone who clearly knows how to get the attention of Social Media. And Jim Romenesko, for cryin’ out loud.

  7. puck says:

LOL… sounds like that reporter just dodged a bullet.

  8. MJ says:

St. Bodie Girl is going to primary Booth again. Let’s hope the Dems run someone this year in that district. Sam Wilson has filed to run for reelection, even though he said he only wanted to serve one term.

  9. jason330 says:

Is Ron Paul still in the running? (tee hee…I kid)
