Romney wins Delaware.
I am calling it. Romney wins. Gingrich fails, and drops out of the race (as he promised, surely he won’t break that promise).
Didn’t see this Republican malfeasance coming…
Thune: Senate Republicans Might Escalate Gov’t Shutdown Fight
A member of the Senate GOP leadership says he and his colleagues could end up backing House Republicans in their efforts to fund the government at levels below those agreed to in the bipartisan debt-limit deal last August, increasing the chances of a government shutdown fight just weeks before the 2012 election.
It is all about winning back the White House for these guys. Republicans view wrecking the economy as a wholly legitimate strategy to that end. Anybody who thinks otherwise has their head up their ass.
The Iron Lady
There is no doubt that Margret Thatcher was a pretty horrible person. She was English (strike one). She popularized the economic radicalism which our economy is still suffering under today (strike two), and she was a shitty mother (strike three).
Nevertheless, she was an effective leader for the British Conservative Party who brought them back from utter irrelevancy. The way she did is a worthwhile study for Democrats who like the x’s and o’s of political strategy.
DL Tracking Poll Results — Mitch Crane (D) (Round 2)
Last month, Mitch Crane proved overwhelmingly popular among our DL readers, as he garnered a 71% approval rating, with only 23% disapproving. This month he gets a basically identical 69% approval rating, with 25% disapproving.
Tuesday Open Thread [4.24.12]
Even though the general election campaign is now underway, […] there are five primaries today in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. As a result, this is the first primary day where Romney doesn’t face any real competition. So when we watch the returns, we’ll get a good idea of the true anti-Romney vote tonight. Does he get at least 50% in all of these contests? What about 60%? 70%?”
¡No Más! – The GOP Latino Vote
Governor Romney’s quest to win the Latino vote, may not be that realistic, and probably will not happen.

North Korea’s “Peculiar Means”
I really don’t know what to make of this odd story out of North Korea.
Delaware General Assembly Pre-Game Show: Tues., April 24, 2012
Since Democrats control both houses of the Delaware General Assembly by overwhelming margins, and since the current governor is a Democrat, I am going to write the legislative preview for today that I should be writing for today. Any resemblance to the real Pre-Game show is purely coincidental.
Romney’s Economic Plan Is The Bush Program, Just Updated
But you knew that, right? A Romney spokeperson was on a radio program (apparently this is part of their Hispanic outreach) and was asked by the host about Romney’s economic program. This is what she said (this is about 1min, 45 long):
Wal-Mart: Low Prices, Huge Bribes
As you’ve probably heard, Wal-Mart was hit with a bribery scandal in an effort to expand stores in Mexico. What’s interesting is that we have anti-corruption laws here in the United States that punish US-based companies for acts of foreign corruption.
Senate to Vote on Postal Reform
As the Senate gets ready to vote on postal reform, I find myself in odd agreement with Senator Tom Carper.
Can Newt Gingrich Win Delaware?
Politico’s Ginger Gibson — yes, that Ginger Gibson — writes about Gingrich’s hope, the “dangerous state of Delaware”.
