The Education of Mitt Romney

Filed in National by on May 11, 2012

With one child in the Brandywine School District and another at a prestigious private school in Delaware, I am always stricken by the feeling of entitlement that many of the students at the private school have. @LOLGOP has a fantastic article on Mitt Romney’s educational experience at the Cranbrook Schools which reinforces much of what I have experienced at one of Delaware’s educational institutes for the First State’s elite. You must read it, but the conclusion is equally wonderful.

But what I did find that my sense that Mitt is a removed guy whose vision of prosperity is one that excludes the vast majority of us was wrong. Mitt thinks everyone can succeed because he comes from a world where that’s true.

He has no idea what the real world is like, no idea of what his prep school friends actually think him now and now idea how to fix this country. I’m more convinced of this than ever. Only now, I don’t blame him.

Not all children who attend and graduated prestigious private schools through out the United States are sadistic and unfeeling, but it doesn’t help either.

  1. I wonder if Romney has ever encountered a barrier in his life. There was a recent article about Romney’s son Tagg. In 2008 he started a hedge fund with the help of $10 M from his mother’s “blind” trust and money from his Father’s political donors. Then he had the nerve to say that they invested because he’s just so awesome (he’d never done any finance work before). I’ll bethe really believes it though.
