The Polling Report is back after the disappointment in Wisconsin. Interestingly, the exit poll from Wisconsin showed Obama winning Wisconsin 54% to 42%. That is Strong Obama territory, and I have updated the map accordingly. Today, we have new polls out of Florida, Pennsylvania and Connecticut, showing Pennsylvania becomes a non-swing state, Connecticut staying one, and Florida wanting to become one.
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Gallup Tracking): Obama 46, Romney 45
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Pew): Obama 49, Romney 42
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (PPP): Obama 50, Romney 42
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Rasmussen Tracking): Obama 46, Romney 46
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (YouGov Obama 47, Romney 42
So either the race is still close, or the President has opened up a pretty solid 7-8 point lead.
CONNECTICUT–PRESIDENT (Quinnipiac): Obama 50, Romney 38
FLORIDA–PRESIDENT (PPP): Obama 50, Romney 46
Florida just on the outside of being a Lean Obama state, but it stays a toss up state for now. But I like seeing the 50% there for Obama.
PENNSYLVANIA–PRESIDENT (Franklin and Marshall): Obama 48, Romney 36
Pennsylvania becomes a strong Obama state, which confirms recent reports that Romney has given up on it.
So let’s update our map:
Obama: 269
Romney: 170
Tossup: 99
CONNECTICUT–SENATOR (Quinnipiac): Chris Murphy (D) 46, Linda McMahon (R) 43; McMahon 46, Susan Bysiewicz (D) 42; Murphy 45, Chris Shays (R) 37; Shays 44, Bysiewicz 40
