How about that News Journal article today?

Degree mills fascinate me for some reason.

Wonder what that woman did to come in for so through a hatchet job. They really put time in.

Of course, she shouldn’t have misrepresented her degree. That’s basic. But the part that made me laugh was the evident trust people put into ACTUAL degrees. We all know people with degrees who can’t find their ass with both hands and a flashlight, and people without degrees who can. Given that we don’t really know what the relationship is between a degree and good teaching, let alone good school policy, the idea that having a vetted degree gets us closer is kind of, um, optimistic. 😉

Flyers traded JVR for Luke Schenn yesterday, bringing the Schenn brothers together and clearing up some cap space.

We lost a great man yesterday. Chris Dolley, 54 year-old Executive Director of William Hicks Anderson Community Center in West Center City, suffered a heart attack at his desk early last night and died. Chris provided leadership, civility and purpose in a neighborhood with shootings and despair and politics and ego. His spirit and wisdom and goodness will be truly missed. We give thanks for his time with us and for all that he gave to the children and people of the community. God rest his soul.

This is cool. Some Kossack reviewed public flight plans and figured out who was on all the private jets flying to Mitt Rmoney’s super-secret gathering of the 0.1% in Utah to write checks and plot more evil. And now he’s posted video of the jets arriving and parking at the airport in Utah.

How the hell does Michael Martinez remain on a major-league roster?

That Matt video is simply terrific!
