Tuesday Open Thread [7.17.12]

The Obamas got on Kiss cam last night during an Olympic Exhibition game at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

Mitt Romney “appears to be in the final stages of deciding who to pick as his vice presidential running mate, with speculation growing that he has narrowed his choice down to a short-list of three,” Reuters reports. Those three are Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R). Only Jindal would be what I call an “exciting pick,” but he doesn’t really fire up the crowds either. His giving the response to one of the President’s first Addresses to Congress was universally panned.

    Anyone else see this? Periodically I see speculation that RMoney’s VP choice might be Liz Cheney. The only thing that makes me discount that is that she hasn’t been on the tryout tour. But that’s a scary thought.
