Monday Open Thread [8.20.12]

Another Monday. Lots of press overdrive re: Todd Akin and this time largely driven by his compatriots who have apparently found a line that conservatives should not cross. But the most important thing today is that Matt Denn is kicking off his re-election campaign, making the usual 3-county announcement. Go out and support him if you can:

Lewes, 10:30 a.m., Grotto Pizza Grand Slam, 17467 Shady Rd. (right off Rt. 1)
Dover, 1:00 p.m., Legislative Hall, 411 Legislative Avenue
Wilmington, 3:00 p.m., St. Michael’s School and Nursery, 700 N. Walnut Street

The Akin rape comments seem to have fortunately distracted everyone from the story of drunken Republican Congressmen frolicking naked in the Sea of Galilee on a lobbyist-funded junket. I don’t even know how to react to this story because I would probably have done exactly the same thing.

  2. Oh great. Republicans skinny-dipping in Israel. That won’t help the peace process any. Somebody tell these guys that the only disclose we’re asking for right now are tax forms. They can keep the rest to themselves.

Israel has nude beaches and not all cultures are as repressed as we are. sounds like a blast…. the bigger problem is the repuke who thinks rape cant cause pregnancy….. not the repuke who showed his pasty American ass to all the gorgeous olive skinned Israelis.

@c “Sad news, comedienne Phyllis Diller died today. She was 95.”

And if she were here to joke about it, she’d say that this was an attempt to improve her looks.
