Debates at the University of Delaware
This series of debates is sponsored by UD and Delaware First Media. This is a separate set of debates from the WHYY/WDEL events, but another great opportunity to see these candidates up close and personal. These are being held at Mitchell Hall on the UD Newark campus. Both start at 7pm.
Debate on October 17, 2012 features the major candidates for Delaware Lt. Governor Debate and Candidates for Delaware Governor.
You have to get a ticket for these debates and they seem to be only available at these venues:
- Bob Carpenter Center Box Office, 631 South College Avenue, Newark
- Trabant Box Office, Trabant University Center
- WDDE, 1200 North DuPont Highway, Dover
- UD’s Hugh R. Sharp Campus, 700 Pilottown Road, 204 Cannon Lab, Lewes
Tickets are first come, first-serve. No idea if there are any still available. But both of these will be webcast.
These debates won’t include the 3rd party candidates, I believe.

Why no Alex? I hope he shows up anyway.
I got two robo-phone polls in the last three days. R and D. I said undecided for almost every position then clicked for Alex on impulse. Wonder if Carper got a lot of impulse repulse? I got a Coons email begging for support for his BFF Tom Carper today too and Carper has sent at least three campaign emails in the last few days.
For the record, I have been formally accepted to participate by the officials of the UD debate.
@Alex. Fantastic! Please bring your tea party friends. Class Action. Its funny because its true.
Maybe Carper is learning a lesson from Castle/O’donnel. Unfortunately, he probably thinks that lesson is “be more conservative”.
In order for Alex to have been accepted, that means that Alex has submitted polling data showing him at above 10% in the race. He could not have met the other two qualifications.
I got a robocall and clicked Alex too.
I have submitted polling data which shows me as above 10% in the polls as well. I am waiting for a reply.
