Shoot!  DelawareDem asked if we could handle this Open Thread.  Since this spot has been blank for an hour we obviously shouldn’t be put in charge.  Moving on…

Yesterday, Colin Powell endorsed President Obama and top Romney surrogate, John Sununu said this:

“Frankly when you take a look at Colin Powell whether that’s an endorsement based on issues or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama,” Sununu told CNN.

“What reason would that be?” asked host Piers Morgan.

“Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you’re proud of being President of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him,” responded Sununu.

Stay classy, Republicans.

Well it explains why Sununu supported President Bush. Both are complete shitheads.

They are a half a step away from dropping the “N” word.

  3. puck says:

Just got a Katz mailer saying “Greg Lavelle brought extreme right-wing politics to Delaware’s GOP.” and “He’s been too busy pushing his extreme agenda to get anything done for middle-class families.”

Also in the mailbox was a feel-good closing ad from Lavelle with photos of him with his family and hugging babies and senior citizens.

  4. The Straight Scoop says:

Sununu is just awful. It’s one thing to have an “attack dog” surrogate, but it’s another to have a highly offensive jackass surrogate. Does this mean if there’s an Hispanic candidate on the ticket, Sununu will automatically support him/her?

Everybody knows that when a white man endorses another white man for office, it is on the merits. AND, when a black man endorses another black man for office it is only for racial solidarity.

And how about the Wasilla Grifter getting in the act?

  6. Liberal Elite says:

Another really strong polling day for Obama!

NYTimes increases Obama win probability to 74.4%
Votamatic (bayesian) has Obama at about 95%.
Princeton has Obama at about 90%.
Desart and Holbrooks has Obama at 85%
    Intrade has Obama at 63%

Absent some precipitous event, Romney appears to be about done.

If Obama wins the popular vote too, then Rasmussen and Gallup filter methods will be heavily discredited.

  7. Diane Meier says:

No Kill Delaware sent a survey to all candidates for state legislature on animal shelters/welfare issues. Only about 20% replied to the survey, but the answers from key Senators – Sen. Blevins, Sen. Peterson and Sen. Venables are very interesting.

No Kill Delaware is an online community on Facebook that is working to make Delaware a No Kill state. Four of DE’s 5 animal shelters are No Kill.
