    For those wondering why this swearing-in happens now and not in January, it’s because:

    1. Delaware state legislative terms expire on Election Day;

    2. The Senate is holding a Special Session to consider some judicial nominations today; meaning…

    3. This is not a lame-duck session, but the first meeting of the newly-elected Senate, hence the new senators are being sworn in today.

    Senator Townsend is a welcomed addition to the Delaware State Senate. I consider him a good sign for Delaware’s future!
