We are all pretty inured to Florida’s gross miscarriages of justice by now.

“Stop singing “If I Had a Hammer”, and start swinging one.”

So I guess you missed the part where they showed some footage of the problems in Oakland. But I get that you are relieved to have your expectations met, no matter how small the connection from a city that explodes for lots of reasons.

Oakland is still smoldering over that BART officer who got away with killing an unarmed black guy several years ago.

Cassandra, I’m just going by the video you posted of the comedian Colbert.

He tried to make a funny when he said “stop singing “If I Had a Hammer”, and start swinging one.”
I just pointed out his ineptitude , by linking to an incident where someone did swing a hammer.
    Maybe he should read more.

  6. cassandra_m says:

There’s no ineptitude in claiming that he’d swing a hammer if he had one. The ineptitude is in thinking that Colbert making an amusing comment on his own behavior has anything to do with whatever happened to that waiter.

But ineptitude is what we expect from you FBH — keep hope alive, good buddy.

  7. fightingbluehen says:

I can’t argue with that logic, I guess. Are we talking about the same thing?

  8. fightingbluehen says:

My apologies . It seems we have completely different takes on the content of Stephen Colbert’s act that you posted.
Here it is I was thinking that Colbert(his character) was telling the African American population to stop singing the song “If I Had a Hammer”, and go out start swinging one”, when all along he(his fictional character) was the one who wanted to swing the damn hammer. I’m like that guy on the hill that The Beatles sang about…..if your interpretation is correct.
