Capriotti’s Bobbie to Represent Delaware in National Sandwich Olympics*

According Zagat, the Bobbie is our best bet to bring home the gold.

  • Delaware: The Bobbie at Capriotti’s

Thanksgiving dinner year-round? Yes, please. This Wilmington sub shop is famous for their holiday hoagie, made with in-house roasted turkey, stuffing, a dollop of cranberry sauce and a smear of mayo. The result? World’s best Thanksgiving – sans the family drama.

Not even the best sandwich on the menu, let alone one of the best 50 sandwiches in the country. Spare me the dry turkey and give me a Capistrami any day.

*there is no such thing as the national sandwich Olympics.

I’ve been trying to talk the family into having Bobbies on TG for the past couple of years but, so far, no takers. It sure would make the day easier.

The Capastrami is awesome, but the Bobbie allows me to maintain the illusion that I am having low-fat turkey and a fruit at the same time. If I found out that I was dying of an incurable disease, I would spend the rest of my days eating the Capastrami for lunch with the intent of giving my pall bearers a hernia.

Purple is a fruit, isn’t it? (Homer Simpson on the health virtues of jelly donuts).

I just want to know how they plan to ship a Bobbie to wherever the judges are without it becoming a soggy clot of organic matter.

If I found out that I was dying of an incurable disease

I guess I’ll just stick with the old plan of becoming a meth cook.

    Jason,
Didn’t take me long to disagree with you again. The Bobbie is straight from the gods. Also I would hardly call their turkey dry, I love their normal turkey sub too.

  5. V says:

I won’t eat anything else there. Jason is obviously the victim of some sort of tragic tongue injury.

    My deepest sympathies.

I am a Bobbie fan. It is part of a fine menu. I guess we do agree on something.

If I buy my Capriotti’s sub in Las Vegas, is it still considered a Delaware sandwich?
BTW, there are twenty three Capriotti’s franchises in Las Vegas. That’s more than we have in our whole state. What’s up with that?

The corporate offices for Capriotti’s is in Vegas.

I like a Bobbie every now and then but Capriotti’s has other subs I like better. (I refuse to use the term Hoagie.)

Friends of mine from out of state LOVE the Bobbie. When they come to town I don’t worry about what to get for them to eat. I just order a bunch of Bobbies.
