Funny. My first thought was Greece, but I can’t find anything close to this. It can’t be North Africa because I suspect you’d see minarets across the city scape.
The only other options are islands like North Cyprus, Malta, etc…
You first thought was right. This is in Greece. Athens, to be exact.
