  1. Joanne Christian says:

WE LIVE IN THE GREATEST NATION AT THIS PLACE IN TIME–and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

This week on June 30th, my son deployed leaving behind his bride of 5 weeks, and on the same morning my SIL’s house burned to the ground in the Wenatchee fires, on a swift shift of wind at 2AM.. They got out with 2 kids, animals, passports, and laptops. That’s it. BIL was at the Grateful Dead concert in LA. And we are grateful. All of us.

Nothing is ever worth it, when it involves loss or potential loss. But oh, it is so worthwhile for what we have had, and want to reclaim or the spirit of recovery and the memories we as Americans have to want to recreate, protect, defend, and maybe share with those who cannot even imagine there was such a place. And there will remain such a place–good, intentional, bruised, battered, ignorant, willing, resourceful, resilient, generous, kind, tolerant, rude, mean, gracious, and trying to do better, as we keep the United States of America going with all it’s warts, moles, and armed forces, keeping our lives in the Constitutional frame. Thank you those who serve. We’ll try not to embarass you here at home and take care of each other! Thank you Heavenly Father for allowing me the privilege to be born right here!
