    Built from 1797-1804, the George Read II House was built to be the largest house in Delaware. GR II’ was trying to compensate for his inability to acquire a fame equal to his father’s GR I (one of only three founding fathers who signed all three establishing documents (The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the third one, which nobody knows, or talks much about).
