JPMorgan v. Yahweh, Case No. 1081RP

JPMorgan v. Yahweh, Case No. 1081RP

JPMorgan Chase settled a lawsuit accusing it of putting its interests ahead of an historic church endowed by descendants of drug company founder Eli Lilly and mismanaging its trust accounts. Lawyers for the bank and the Christ Church Cathedral told a federal judge in Indianapolis on Friday they reached an agreement, according to a court filing. Settlement details weren't included in court records. The church, founded in 1837 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places according to its website, accused JPMorgan of causing its trusts to lose about $13 million in value from July 2004 to December 2013. The losses flowed from the bank's decisions to "purchase over 177 different investment products, mostly from itself, using church funds," according to a complaint filed two years ago.
There's a special place in hell for this bank. And yes they will go to hell, because corporations are people and Hell has a special place for anything that that is deemed human (yet soulless) by America. Must I remind you that they are one of Delaware's largest employers.

18th RD: David Bentz Is the Real Deal

I'm quite impressed with the progressive positions he has taken on the issues, and I hope we can all do whatever it takes to help him win the Special Election.  I've decided to print the entire endorsement from Progressive Democrats of Delaware, because he really spells out his positions here:
Coons is a Yes.

Coons is a Yes.

Click here to view the webast. It is worth noting that Senator Casey of Pennsylvania, widely expected to be a no, along with Chris Coons, has just announced that he will vote yes. So perhaps Senator Coons will surprise me here with a good decision. UPDATE: Coons is a yes. I take back everything I have said about him. Good for him. And good for America. From the Washington Post:
Coons's decision, coming in an exclusive interview with The Washington Post, delivered a powerful blow to opponents of the plan because the Delaware Democrat had previously voiced some of the deepest skepticism about the controversial deal. It came as Casey announced support for the deal and left Obama needing just one more vote in the Senate to claim victory. Coons reached his decision after many weeks of deliberation that included long talks with top administration officials — including his political mentor, Vice President Biden — and an exchange of letters with President Obama that codified the assurances he received about the pact's implementation. "We are better off trying diplomacy first," Coons told The Washington Post in an exclusive interview.

“There is no war on women – there may be a war on what’s inside of women, but there is no war on women in this country.” — Ben Carson, quoted by The Hill. Well then. 2016, the year Republicans finally got honest. "Yes, we are bigots. Yes, we are racists. And yes, we want to control a woman's choices."

So that hateful bigot of a county clerk in Rowan County, Kentucky, Kim Davis, has been denying the issuance of marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples since the Supreme Court's decision in late June 2015 allowing for them. State and Federal appeallate courts have ordered her to follow the Constitution and the Supreme Court's ruling, which is the supreme law of the land. She refused, and appealed to the Supreme Court. Last night, they denied her. But this morning, she is refusing, citing to God's authority.
Who is Copeland’s Next Simpler?

Who is Copeland’s Next Simpler?

Ken Simpler was no fluke. He ran a great campaign that offered voters a legitimate alternative to the Democratic cadidate without exciting the passions of the idiot base of the DE GOP. While he caught a break facing off against Sean Barney, a guy with all the baggage of Tom Carper and none of the name recognition, nobody can deny that the Simpler campaign was a cut above the usual half-assery Copeland's DEGOP has become know for. Which raises the question, who is next? Can any of the Republican candidates that have announced for statewide offices inherit Simpler's sober, sane, level-headed, and thereby winning positioning?

In arking the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Paul Krugman noted that Katrina was the moment that the scales fell off the eyes of Americans to reveal who George W. Bush actually was: "Katrina was special in political terms because it revealed such a huge gap between image and reality. Ever since 9/11, former President George W. Bush had been posing as a strong, effective leader keeping America safe. He wasn't...It took a domestic disaster, which made his administration's cronyism and incompetence obvious to anyone with a TV set, to burst his bubble." He thinks we are witnessing a similar moment with Jeb Bush.
"Consider Jeb Bush, once hailed on the right as "the best governor in America," when in fact all he did was have the good luck to hold office during a huge housing bubble. Many people now seem baffled by Mr. Bush's inability to come up with coherent policy proposals, or any good rationale for his campaign. What happened to Jeb the smart, effective leader? He never existed."
The Coons Soaking the Spotlight for All Its Worth Announcement

The Coons Soaking the Spotlight for All Its Worth Announcement

I think Senator Chris Coons desires more war and thus he is a no on the Iran Deal. My evidence for this is that he is doing what fellow Senator Bob Menendez did: give a highly touted speech at a University to announce your decision. If he was a yes, he would just announce it in an interview or a press release like Tom Carper did, and like 30 other of his fellow Democratic Senators. I hope I am wrong, and I will publicly say I was wrong here tomorrow if Coons surprises me, and makes a big show of voting yes. But, that is not the feel I am getting. So if you feel like attending a speech to boo and heckle the Senator nonstop throughout his speech once he announces his no vote, here are the details.
WHAT: United States Senator Chris Coons announces position on nuclear deal with Iran. WHEN: Tuesday, September 1 at 2 p.m. WHERE: University of Delaware, Institute for Global Studies, 44 Kent Way, Newark, DE 19716 CONTACT: Sean Coit (Coons) at sean_coit@coons.senate.gov or 202-224-0351 or 202-794-0670 LIVESTREAM: http://www.udel.edu/udlive PARKING: Validation will be provided for the nearby Center for the Arts parking garage
The only thing that gives me pause in thinking that Coons will be a no is the fact that it is very clear to all concerned that Iran Deal will obtain the support of 34 Democratic Senators it needs to sustain the President's veto. Indeed, the only real suspenseful question is whether the Democrats can obtain the 41 votes they need to filibuster the rejection from ever getting to the President's desk. The warmongering campaign that Iran Deal opponents launched failed, and everyone knows it....

It’s official Joe Biden is running

...for something. Let's face it. These old fuckers think that they are the only people who can get anything done. People like Biden look around and they see a bunch of sad sack losers with their eyes locked on the little TV screens they carry around all the time. Joe is running. Mark my words.
