Every presidential administration gets the satiric songwriter it needs. Randy Rainbow got us through the first Trump term and the Biden years, but he’s given way in Trump 2.0 to troubadour Jesse Welles.
Welles hails from Ozark, Ark., but his politics are the opposite of what you might expect. He’s clever and funny, and the sardonic humor often carries a sharp sting. In “Nerd Reich,” which dropped earlier this week, he runs down the Trump crew’s latest exploits, observing “they hired a clown, we get the whole damn circus.”
