Nice catch. This may be a good agenda item for Monday’s daily resistance activities. Contact Denn’s office. Get him on record & in stronger terms. Consider this a suggestion…

  2. I asked Denn this about an hour ago. He wasn’t asked (to his knowledge). If I had to guess, it’s because there isn’t an international airport in Delaware.

@liberalgeek – Thanks for asking. But it shouldn’t have taken a question to get the AG on record opposing Trump in the age of social media. And Delaware’s lack of an international airport hasn’t stopped Carper or Blunt Rochester from speaking and going to the airport (to their credit). This isn’t about legal technicalities, this is about people’s lives, the right thing to do and who we are as Americans.

Here’s the list of states that participated in the letter: California, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Virginia, Vermont, Oregon, Connecticut, New Mexico, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Illinois and the District of Columbia.

This is a miss on Denn’s part.

President Trump screened the film “Finding Dory” in the White House on Sunday, as hundreds gathered outside to protest his immigration ban.

Trump screened the Disney Pixar film in the afternoon amid massive backlash against his executive order prohibiting foreign nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.

The White House announced the movie screening in its official schedule for the president.

@LG, Denn wrote a strong amicus brief for a Special Education case before the supreme court with no DE parties…so I don’t care about the lack of int’l airport.

What a cluster fuck this administration is going to be. Even beyond the maliciousness, they are just incompetent aholes.

Puck. What went down at the Hansen fundraiser? Del Dem say it sounded like Dems finding thier voice and their unity. Do you concur?

  9. Matt Denn put out his own statement before I asked him about this letter:

I was asked for my opinion today on the President’s Executive Order on immigration. My opinion is simple: it is a betrayal of basic American values. We will be evaluating the appropriate role for our office to play, either independently or in coordination with other states, in any legal proceedings involving the order. One of the considerations in our evaluation will be other legal challenges to the Executive Order that are already pending.

It appears that this statement went out around 3PM. My comment about an international airport was why the other Attorneys General may not have reached out.

About the Hansen fundraiser: I’m all in – i signed up to canvass for Hansen.

There were a lot of people there, cars filling the lot and lined up far along the road. The place was packed, and people were energized and were forming up to go out canvassing when I left. I was not able to join them because of family commitments, but I expect to help canvass this week, or help any way I can.

Hansen made it clear that despite the registration advantage the campaign is playing hard like they were underdogs. She spoke about her experiences knocking on doors – mostly positive reception, but she also spoke of a noticeable anti-immigrant undercurrent, as in “Why are we spending tax money to take care of THOSE people,” etc.
