Trumpcare To Be Brought Down By–Parliamentary Procedure?  Could well be. Financial Assets That Kushner ‘Forgot’ To Disclose.  They’re all crooks.  Sans pardons, they’re all going down. Freedon and Manafort Will Not Testify Next Week As Planned. But Grassley and the disgraceful Dianne Feinstein will go after compiler of Trump dossier.  Someone needs to take out […]

It all comes down to the midterms

Filed in National by on July 21, 2017 41 Comments

If Trump fires Mueller and the GOP congress does nothing, the last hope is the mid-terms. Relying on Democrats to get their shit together doesn’t exactly fill me with optimism though.

“If this crisis unfolds as depicted here, the country’s final hope for avoiding a terminal slide into authoritarianism would be the midterm election, contesting control of a historically gerrymandered House of Representatives. That election is 16 months away. Between now and then, Trump’s DOJ and his sham election-integrity commission will seek to disenfranchise as many Democratic voters as possible, while the president himself beseeches further foreign interference aimed at Democratic candidates. Absent the necessary sweep, everything Trump will have done to degrade our system for his own enrichment and protection will have been ratified, and a point of no return will have been crossed.”

Trump Considering Pardoning Family and Himself.  Anyone surprised? They’re Also Looking To Undermine Mueller’s Investigation.  Criminals looking to kill criminal investigation.  Rethug response? Crickets. Entire party is a criminal enterprise, or at least acting like one. Carney Vetoes Controversial Charter School Radius Bill.  Seems like for good reasons.  What do our education mavens think? City […]

Unhinged Trump Throws AG Sessions Under The Bus.  If only he’d known that Sessions wouldn’t be his  criminal co-conspirator, he never would have hired him.  Entire interview is utterly insane. ‘Russia’s Congressman’ Loses Top Aide Due To Russian Connections.  I never envisioned a day when treason was such an everyday possibility. Chris Coons Take Note: […]

It’s Obvious: Without Access To Laundered Russian Money, The Trump Organization Would Collapse

Filed in Featured, National by on July 19, 2017 17 Comments

It’s my Eureka moment.  Everything is explained and explainable once we realize that my headline is correct. Everything. I’ll start, but I encourage everyone to contribute to this post. First, this breaking news from the NYTimes. Deutsche Bank, the only bank that will lend to Trump, has been fined over $600 million for laundering Russian […]

Chris Coons Wants To Make It A Crime To Boycott Israel

Filed in Delaware, National by on July 19, 2017 7 Comments

This demands a thread of its own.  To a large degree, Sen. Chris Coons has always been bought and paid for by AIPAC, the so-called pro-Israeli lobby.  ‘So-called’ b/c they promote the most egregious excesses of Benyamin Netanyahu, the Chris Christie of Israel. Not the Israel that others, including many Jews, envision. However, it never […]

Sussex Sports Complex Planned.  Before you ask, yes, government money is expected to help pay for this alleged financial windfall.  Raising the obvious question, if it’s such a windfall, why do taxpayers have to underwrite it?  US Military Paying Trump $130K A Month For Rent. In Trump Tower. Agreement was reached in April. Whatever happened […]

Carney Poll Numbers Tank on Stumbling, Bumbling Start

There is time for Carney to redeem himself, but he’d have to do something that seems like an anathema to him – be a Democrat.

Yet herein will I imitate the sun,
Who doth permit the base contagious clouds
To smother up his beauty from the world,
That, when he please again to be himself,
Being wanted, he may be more wonder’d at,
By breaking through the foul and ugly mists
Of vapours that did seem to strangle him.

The poll numbers via Allan Loudell:

Trumpcare Dead…For Now.  No senator wanted to be the single deciding no. So Senators Lee and Moran jointly announced that they were both no votes. In typical McCain weasel fashion, Arizona’s senior senator then said that the time was right for bipartisan negotiations. Hey, he may be temporarily off of TV, but his words aren’t. […]

McConnell’s new case to GOP Moderates for Medicaid Cuts – “Don’t worry a smarter future Congress will undo it.”

McConnell’s new case to GOP Moderates for Medicaid Cuts – “Don’t worry a smarter future Congress will undo it.”

This is nuts. MCConnell tells moderates that a future (smarter) President will not sign off on Medicaid cuts and a future (smarter) Congress will not let them pass. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) learned from TPM last week that Senate Majority Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was telling moderate Republican senators in closed-door meetings that a future Congress […]
