All Eyes on Virginia and New Jersey

All races featuring a "D" running against an "R" are proxy battles in the ongoing resistance against Trump. If Democratic campaign managers can't make that case they suck and need to leave politics. The good news in that in New Jersey - that case has been made and "R" Kim Guadagno trails "D" Phil Murphy...by a lot. Guadagno, of course also has the baggage of being in the same party as the state's least popular governor since Governor Syphilis. We all know about polls though, and how willing Republicans are to cheat.. so nothing is done until it is done. In Virginia it is a lot closer and with most polls showing Republican Ed Gillespie within striking distance of Democrat Ralph Northam. Virginia is the only Southern state the president didn't win and there are signs anti-Trump sentiment is high. But as Alby pointed out here Russian troll farms are working overtime to try and elect Gillespie.

Russians Sure Have Americans Pegged

Revelations about Russian infiltration of social media are starting to creep me out. The Huffington Post looked for now-known troll accounts in online media and found scores of references to cut-out…

The civil war in the Democratic Party should be slouching toward Appomattox Courthouse, but the belligerents just won't let it go. Shots are still being fired over Donna Brazile's book…

Today’s Political Media Landscape – Dems Don’t Get It

My contempt for Clinton is vast. But I get that one of her disadvantages was the fact that she is a member of a political party that doesn't grasp modernity. Basically, Democrats are the Lokata relying on Ghost Dances to deflect bullets.
Executive Summary In this study, we analyze both mainstream and social media coverage of the 2016 United States presidential election. We document that the majority of mainstream media coverage was negative for both candidates, but largely followed Donald Trump’s agenda: when reporting on Hillary Clinton, coverage primarily focused on the various scandals related to the Clinton Foundation and emails. When focused on Trump, major substantive issues, primarily immigration, were prominent. Indeed, immigration emerged as a central issue in the campaign and served as a defining issue for the Trump campaign. We find that the structure and composition of media on the right and left are quite different. The leading media on the right and left are rooted in different traditions and journalistic practices. On the conservative side, more attention was paid to pro-Trump, highly partisan media outlets. On the liberal side, by contrast, the center of gravity was made up largely of long-standing media organizations steeped in the traditions and practices of objective journalism.

Democratic Truth and Reconciliation Conference

I agree with this:
The relevant point is that the Democratic party needs unity to combat the dangers and damage of Trumpism.
But the facts remain: Bernie was cheated out of the nomination, and a large part of the party is still beholden to those cheaters who count large donors and the financial industry as supporters. So how do we move past the Clinton/Wasserman Schultz crimes into the light of a new day? How do we form a national party that can win? I would say, at the very least Clinton needs to resign from the party and from politics. She is in and of herself, toxic. If she is the patriot she claims to be that should be a price she is willing to pay to save the country from Trumpism and the party from irrelevance.

NOT BREAKING – HRC and DWS were/are pieces of shit

So... it isn't news that Hillary Rodham Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schultz are deplorable pieces of shit. This is a long standing "known-known" as Donald Rumsfeld might say. The question is - what are Democrats going to do about it? If by "Democrats" you mean Tom Carper and John Carney, the answer must be - Nada. This is the system working from their perspective.
