The patron saint of Delaware Democrats, Peter G. “Pete” Peterson, died last week. He’s the former Nixon commerce secretary who made his billions co-founding the Blackstone Group, one of Wall Street’s hungriest vampire squid. To the greater detriment of Americans, he also co-founded the Concord Coalition, the bipartisan panel of deficit scolds who preach austerity and convert every Democrat Delaware sends to Washington.
