It would have been musical malpractice to not include Robert Johnson amongst this week’s celebration of the best of the blues. I try NOT to commit musical malpractice:

Coons Picks On Someone His Own Size

Filed in National by on May 25, 2018 33 Comments

Sen. Chris Coons put his foot down yesterday, writing a letter to Chuck Grassley expressing — I hope you’re sitting down — deep concern that Donald Trump Jr. might have lied to Congress. “I am writing to you because I am deeply concerned that, based on new information we learned this week, Donald Trump Jr. […]

A Kickstarter/Gofundme-style crowdfunding site to fund Trump’s Border Wall

Typically GOP members of congress take care of the managerial side of the grift, and allow the day to day fleecing of stupid conservatives go to some outsourced operation like the NRA, or the American Family Association, or any one of a million “non-profits” set up to steal money from rubes.

With this Kickstarter/Gofundme type deal to take money from conservative dummies, GOP members of congress look to be getting into the retail side of the scam.

Delaware Political Weekly: May 18-24, 2018

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on May 25, 2018 9 Comments

Well, not quite weekly. Just wasn’t enough stuff to justify a post last week. 1. Could Two Of Delaware’s Best Legislators Choose Not To Run Again? Yes. And it’s scary.  While no final decisions have been made, I’m told that two of Delaware’s best are considering bowing out instead of seeking reelection. To put it […]

May 24 Open Thread: NFL Owners Bow and Scrape, Players Must Stand

Filed in National by on May 24, 2018 21 Comments

The National Football League has a big orange problem, and it’s not the Cincinnati Bengals. The league’s owners adopted a policy that players who don’t want to stand for the National Anthem must stay in their locker rooms, pleasing nobody, and yesterday admitted they did so out of fear of Trump, who back in happier, […]

Send back the Peace Prize

Send back the Peace Prize

The “best summit ever!” has been cancelled, because North Korea’s Kim Jong Un decided that the “Libya Model” of negotiating with America (wherein you give up your weapons and are left with some flimsy promises of friendship until you are killed), didn’t jibe with his vision for North Korea.

May 23 Open Thread: NCCo Tax Hike Dies in Fiery Collision With Reality

Filed in National by on May 23, 2018 21 Comments

New Castle County executive Matt Meyer claimed he was confident his proposed 15% tax increase would pass, which makes him 0 for 3 in his arithmetic: Everybody else thought 15% was too much to ask for, everybody else knew even-numbered years have elections in them (though not for his job) and last night county council […]

Look down ballot to help clean up the Democratic Party: Carter, Pusey, Durham poised to make an impact

Yesterday I wrote that voting in the upcoming September primary is the best way to change the Democratic Party for the better.  The New Castle County Council primaries provide us an unprecedented opportunity to get involved and change the Democratic Party, the County, and America, for the better. We have three change makers running for […]
