‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: May 2018

While there’s one song that towers over all the others and could well be the Song Of The Year, there are nevertheless several other pleasures to savor. As always, something for almost everybody:

    Some opinions:

    Agree with you completely about Ryley Walker (and the greatness of Tim Buckley.) New album’s a little more “out there” but still excellent.

    The Rayland Baxter song is hilarious and sounds good too.

    The tricot song is odd but in a good way, partly because I already liked “Last Tango in Paris” as a movie theme.

    This is a great Ry Cooder performance and I’m a big fan. But the new album is a little too much like a sermon from the pulpit.

    I prefer the other song Childish Gambino did on SNL, “Saturday.” But then I’m a sucker for smooth neo-soul. Glad to see Childish Gambino doing well, but I still miss Troy.

    The Wolfman is very good. I’d say the other two are just OK.

    Good selection.
