This month, I’m simply gonna present the songs in the order that I first heard them. Just remember, if you don’t like one, you can move onto another one. Might not like that one either. But you’ll probably like something:

July 31 Open Thread: Democrats Have a Billionaire Sugar Daddy

Filed in National by on July 31, 2018 6 Comments

To hear the conservative unwashed tell it, George Soros is the sugar daddy for everything from Nazis to Commies to — worst of all — Democrats. In reality, the party has its own super-donor to rival the GOP’s Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson and the Mercer family. You probably have heard of Tom Steyer as the […]

Most Intriguing Primaries: RD 22

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on July 31, 2018 14 Comments

This one is a political scientist’s dream.  A retiring long-time legislator.  A district which has moved from red to purple.  Primaries in both parties. The retiring legislator is Joe Miro.  Probably the last of his breed: A moderate R from a northern New Castle County district that is trending more D every month. Current registration […]

Giulliani is an evil genius, or the worst lawyer ever

This summarized from from TPM below the fold:

– Just this morning on CNN Giuliani disclosed on CNN that the on July 7th, 2016 top people in Trump’s campaign had a planning meeting to prep for the dirt meeting with the Russians two days later.

– Trump was so excited about the dirt his campaign was going to receive from Russia in two days that he couldn’t help but brag about it in public that night.

Filed in National, Open Thread by on July 30, 2018 5 Comments

The Florida sheriff who refused to arrest Delaware native Michael Drejka for shooting an unarmed black man in a convenience store parking lot misapplied the law in the case, according to both the NRA and the Florida lawmaker who authored the state law. Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan is toast, but he still thinks he can […]

July 29 Open Thread: Democrats Tell Leftists, ‘Don’t Wreck the Party, That’s Our Job’

Filed in National by on July 29, 2018 20 Comments

Inside-the-beltway pundits see Democrats all over the political spectrum winning elections and write that the intra-party warfare is overblown. Those outside the beltway have a clearer view: The neo-liberal “moderates” will give up power when leftists wrest it from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s wrinkled, arthritic hands. Here’s a political cartoon to illustrate the point. […]

July 28 Open Thread: Facebook Nosedives, and There Is Much Rejoicing

Filed in National, Open Thread by on July 28, 2018 5 Comments

Nothing typifies modern “journalism” better than this attempt to answer the rhetorical question, “Why are people glad that Facebook stock belly-flopped?” If we’re going to answer that, how about, “Because it turns out a guy who can write computer code might not have any other useful skills for running a gigantic corporation in an ethical […]

Why does John Atkins still have all of his guns?

John Atkins is out on a measly $18,000 cash bail. After being re-arrested for stalking the woman he is charged with assaulting in July, John Atkins, tried to contact the woman again on Tuesday.

During all of this malevolence, Atkins has not been required to surrender any of the many guns he frequently brags about owning on social media.

Chris Coons Still Stonewalling Spy Breakfast Questions

It seems like weeks* now since we first learned that Chris Coons’ lunatic, over-the-top mania for bipartianship put him in direct contact with 50 Russian operatives at the National Prayer breakfast. Is he going to continue to co-chair the nest of spies breakfast? What did he talk about with his Russian contacts? What state secrets did he reveal between prayers?
