Ken Simpler’s SM Consultant is Lighting Money on Fire

Filed in National by on November 2, 2018

Ken Simpler really likes employing consultants. Whoever he got to handle his social media is simply terrible. Check out this post. Not only is it ridiculous, but FB has some pretty accurate targeting tools. There is no way in hell they should be paying money to show me this craziness.

At least that market got the fact that I have feet right. Simpler’s social media makes no sense. That picture displayed like that. It was nt a fuction of my screen resolution.

    C’mon, Ken.

Why am I getting ads for Trump and wall building on Delaware Liberal?
[Beach goes to the “Advertising” tab and reads…]
“Adsense serves ads that it thinks you will be interested in based on your browsing history, so if you see something untoward or unsettling, take a look in the mirror.”
[Beach goes to a mirror and ponders…]

There are a lot of candidates/ consultants who seem to not understand the specificity with which one can use facebook to target voters. I’ve gotten ads from a liberal Nevada PAC showing an ad for their Lt. Gov. candidate targeted at the whole country. If you want to learn more about the ads, you can go to the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the post, and click “why am I seeing this?” and Facebook will tell you the specifications used and how you fit them. You can block posts from specific advertisers, but personally I’m fine with ken wasting his money. [I will note that daniel rappa, the R for recorder of deeds (as of 9/4/18) is specifically targeting US Politics liberal, which is an interesting strategy]

I liked on the “Why am I seeing this” and read:

One reason you’re seeing this ad is that Ken Simpler for Delaware wants to reach people interested in Business, based on activity such as liking Pages or clicking on ads.
There may be other reasons you’re seeing this ad, including that Ken Simpler for Delaware wants to reach people ages 22 and older who live in Delaware

    Lousy marketing.
