Biden is Running – No Suspense Left

Family on board, and staffing up. The March 16th announcement is a formality.

Former Vice President Joe Biden said that he’s “very close” to making a decision on whether to run in 2020 now that his family is on board.

“The most important people in my life want me to run,” Biden said during a speaking engagement Tuesday at the University of Delaware.

CNN first reported the comments.

Biden said his “first hurdle” was deciding whether he is “comfortable” putting his family through a “very, very difficult campaign” when it comes to both the Democratic primary and a possible general election against President Donald Trump.

Biden added that the “second piece” is not wanting the run “to be a fool’s errand.”

“I want to make sure that if we do this – and we’re very close to getting to a decision – that I am fully prepared to do it,” Biden said.

Biden added that it would be the “greatest honor” of his life to be President, but that he has to make sure that he could run a “first rate effort” and be clear on the direction he thinks the country should go.

Biden has reportedly made job offers to potential staffers in the key early state of New Hampshire, according to National Journal. HuffPost also reported that Biden has made job offers in South Carolina.
