Another May Deal Fails, Brexit-pocalypse 14 days out – It is up to the Queen now

Filed in National by on March 29, 2019

I, Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of my other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith’, have something to say on this Brexit shit.

Now I’m not ordering anybody to do anything, let’s make that clear. I’m suggesting that the Prime Minster call for a vote on a new referendum. I’m asking for the EU’s kind forbearance while we re-vote on the question of leaving the Union. Additionally, when that vote happens I would be pleased if we decide to remove the gun we’ve placed against our own head. But like I said, I’m not ordering anything, I’m merely saying that a re-vote and a different outcome would be great.

LONDON (AP) — British lawmakers on Friday rejected the government’s Brexit deal for a third time, leaving the U.K. facing the stark prospect of a chaotic departure from the European Union in just two weeks, with political leaders in turmoil and the country ill-prepared for the shock.

It’s either that, or a long delay to the country’s exit from the EU. The alternatives are dwindling.

The House of Commons voted 286-344 against the withdrawal agreement struck between Prime Minister Theresa May and the EU, rebuffing her plea to “put aside self and party” and deliver the Brexit that Britons voted for.

Amid business warnings that a no-deal Brexit could mean crippling tariffs, border gridlock and shortages of goods, a visibly frustrated May said the vote had “grave” implications.

“The legal default now is that the United Kingdom is due to leave the European Union on 12 April — in just 14 days’ time,”

Hey – I’m not the only person calling on the Queen to act. The Miami Herald points out that she can undo the Brexit vote (or adopt one of May’s Brexit “deals”) by decree.

Queen Elizabeth II may be the only person who can fix the Brexit mess. She has the power to wave her scepter and declare a solution. It’s a power that the royals have not exercised in years, but at 92 years old and with her nation riven, the Sovereign should step in and decide on the United Kingdom’s sovereignty.

I’ve loved Queen, whoops, the Band, not the Monarch; but, PLEASE, Liz, stop the madness that the CONservtive, Maggie-Thatcher-loving idiots brought on themselves and your kingdom. The fools in Northern Ireland who think they’re British, and the brave folk in Scotland, will soon understand that they should really not be a part of the UK. Just as in our country, really stupid people think they know what’s best for the country.
