I love Pete Buttigieg

I also love whoever the Democrats nominate provided the contest is fair and transparent. That said…I think Pete can go the distance. He is legit.

I’m a surprised convert to Mayor Pete, he’s got a lot more game then most of the candidates and when pressed he stands right up and answers the question, zero games and prevarication. He can do it and I’d be proud to vote for him.

  2. Dave says:

Ok. Unethical by association. Good to know.

    • RE Vanella says:

Same rule as an ex-prosecutor. It’s not necessarily disqualifying. But you have quite a bit to answer for. And those answer better be fucking good.

The reason we’re in this situation is liberals who follow politics closely have almost no standard except who they guess everyone else like them likes. Not realizing that literally no one else does that.

I can think of a few examples right of the top of my head.

      • ben says:

YEAH! It better be FUCKIN GOOD!.

If people dont care about the current president committing treason to get elected… as you are such a fan of pointing out… they certainly arent gonna care about a post-college starter job.

  3. RE Vanella says:

Yes, of course McKinsey were the administrative arm of the Saudi regime, AKP in Turkey, Manafort’s friends in Ukraine, etc… but, but,…. TRUMP!

We doomed because you guys can think straight. Very legal. Very cool.

You’ve sold out so many fucking times it just comes natural now.

  4. The Rev, moving the goal posts. Dog bites man.

    Yawn.

    • RE Vanella says:

Where were the goalposts and where did I move them? Be specific. Because I fucking hate that lazy cliché. Sounds like some dumb fucking shit Cassandra would write. What the fuck are you talking about?

    • ben says:

He must just be in love with the fundraising boost trump gives leftist causes and all the great memes.
He’s sad to see that era come to an end.
I cant think of another reason he’d go so delcratty on everyone.

      • RE Vanella says:

This comment is incomprehensible. ben is very smart.

I apologize for knowing so much about McKinsey and what they do and pointing out that certain constituencies of non-Trump voters won’t like it.

I see it really hurt your feelings.

        • ben says:

oh yeah. My feelings are supes hurt.
Come back with some actual dirt if your goal is to “just have an conversation”… eyeroll. A lazy troll is a lazy troll no matter what side of the bridge it’s under.
How about with your VAST knowledge, you point out exactly what major policy or agenda decisions Mayor Pete! <3 ! made in his long history with the McMillian and Wife club, or whatever it's called. I could look up a few inches and read it but i dont care enough.
Quote a flailing, pro-DNC publication like the NYT too. that'll make it super legit.

          • RE Vanella says:

Hahahahaha. I see it now. You support Buttigieg because you’re both Rhodes Scholars. Makes perfect sense now.

            • ben says:

solid reply. I’ll wait for you to show me how influential mayor pete was. This is obviously a really important topic for you, so i look forward to the in-depth post about it. cmon big guy, dont just right the bell then retreat into half-thought out snarky comments.

              • RE Vanella says:

                Hahaha. OK.

That’s the question isn’t it. What did he do while at McKinsey and what is his opinion of the work they do. When/If I see answers to these question I will evaluate.

What I definitely will not do is say “I LOVE…” every Democratic candidate because of Trump. Because I try to think things out for myself based not on what other people tell me I am suppose to care about. In my experience that doesn’t go well.

I will listen to the advice of other smart, thoughtful people. But those are difficult to find. And you certainly aren’t one of them.

              • ben says:

so this is all because you dont get the point of these “i love” posts?
                lame.

              • RE Vanella says:

                I get it.

        • You and I (I think) both supported Bernie last time. Volunteered for him. Don’t think I ever wrote that Bernie had a lot to answer for when it came to his pro-gun positions in Vermont.

Here you say that Mayor Pete has a lot to answer for due to a job he took in his 20’s. Like he was responsible for any and all of McKimsey’s ills. Please.

I know that you have said that you’re some sort of rhetorical performance artist.

Problem is, IMHO, when you go into that mode, you lose all credibility, and ultimately, people turn you off.

          Or, at least, I do.

          • RE Vanella says:

Does Harris need to answer for her time as a prosecutor working with ICE and jailing the parents of truants?

Does Gillibrand need to answer for her time defending Big Tobacco as recently as 2009?

McKinsey is far worse that Goldman Sachs. So yeah, because of McKinsey history, for which I provided some background, I want some fucking answers.

You think because you don’t that asking them is bad and wrong.

This is why we are in this mess because these just get brushed off like they shouldn’t be discussed. No big deal!

Déjà vu. Ignore it. Go ahead. Tell people not to bring it up. Not up for discussion. Yeah, that’ll work out well.

Get the fuck out of here.

            • You don’t know WHAT THE FUCK I THINK. And you don’t get to make the rules here.

I DO think, however, that maybe it’s time you started your own blog. You could talk to yourself all you want.

              • RE Vanella says:

So do you think these are reasonable questions or no?

(Also, chill with the hysteria. Go back and read the original comment I made. You think it’s worth all these stupid fucking responses?)

What rules am I trying to make?

              • ben says:

yeah, we’re all hysterical. Just fucking tell us which specific things Buttigieg did while in charge of McKinsey that were so horrible. It shouldn’t be that fucking hard to show what exactly you want to have “a conversation” about.

              • RE Vanella says:

We don’t know you fucking numpty. That’s the point. I’m glad you finally arrived there.

You all don’t want the question asked. Because you don’t care or Trump or whatever.

I do want to know the answers to those exact questions. See how that works?

We don’t know those answers because when someone points out that this may be an area that needs some additional scrutiny you all make a mess in your pants.

              • ben says:

so you’ve reach the Glenn Beck “IM JUST ASKING QUESTIONS” level of buffoonery. too bad.

  5. RE Vanella says:

I’m still waiting very fucking impatiently for the explanation of this goalpost move. I mean it’s such a great logical fallacy to throw around. And as we all know political problems are just like math.

  6. RE Vanella says:

    Man, Ben, you’re fucking dumb.

    • ben says:

no, im just over your stupid leftist bullshit and refuse to engage with you in any way other than being the same kind of dickish troll that you turned your internet persona in to.
It’s like since KEH lost the nomination, you’ve gone off the deep end into true “dems and trump are the same” aggrieved bullshit.
Get over it, sunshine. The person you’re gonna vote for wont be a shiny pony and you’re gonna have to love it. or be a fascist bootlicker.

You wanna have “real conversations” about candidates? why not bring up how Mayor Pete told a room full of cops that “all lives matter” in 2015? That is way more problematic than where he was a coffee boy or whatever he did……
unless you’re gonna drop some serious shit about how he was secretly in charge?

      • RE Vanella says:

I commented that Pete worked for McKinsey and noted they have a terrible history that is continuing to this day. You wet your knickers.

I think what McKinsey does allows authoritarian regimes to murder people. You don’t care. That’s perfectly fine. But don’t put that on me.

You’re not bright. You regurgitate the same internet shit over and over.

Now, if I were to do the El Som thing I’d point out that you don’t know very much about me. I’m not aggrieved. I was over the 2018 elections the day after they happened.

You don’t know anything. Basically you don’t like the topic. Too complicated. Go ahead back to your Russian conspiracies. Those are very important and well thought out.

        • ben says:

          Yeah, that’s what happened here.
You showed up waiving your hands about the place, i said ‘yeah, so?” and you had a little fit.
I still say. “yeah? so?” what did he do for them? do you have an answer or more nut-flexin? You’re not bright. You regurgitate the same internet shit over and over.

  7. RE Vanella says:

    Russian asset!

    Glenn Beck!

    Delacrat!

    Moving goalposts!

I have to sit through y’all’s fucking Russian conspiracy theories and I’m Glenn Beck….

    Hahahahaha

    • ben says:

and you came here to be confused about the name of a post, made some vague accusation about where a candidate worked in his early 20s, then when pressed for more information, started yelling about Russian conspiracies.
      what’s really upsetting you?

      • RE Vanella says:

I’m not confused about the name of the post.

I rightly thought this was a good place to mention that there is something about this candidate that troubles me very much.

It isn’t vague at all. You’re very slow on the pick-up. I know this is complicated for you. I’m sorry.

        https://www.currentaffairs.org/2019/03/all-about-pete

        • ben says:

this screed brought to you by
“what did Obama know about the Weather UnderGround and when did it know it”
also “Ilhan Omar…. where was she on 9/11”,
and “Does that bank teller for Wells Fargo know how evil she is for working for Evil Wells Fargo”?

I though you were some big tough internet warrior. Turns out you’re fuckin 10-ply and cant back up your dumb points. this is a disappointing day.

          • RE Vanella says:

If you think those are analogous you’re stupider than I thought. And I thought you were pretty fucking stupid.

  8. RE Vanella says:

This is the Alby theory regarding my interest in South American politics. You all decide what is “vague” and what people “care about” like that is to set the parameters of debate.

    I’m not buying it.

Anyone notice Ecuador finalized that IMF bailout the same week they ejected Assange from the embassy? Probably completely unrelated. Too complicated.

    • ben says:

no, it’s shady as shit. Almost as shady as the media blackout around the Israeli bank fines. but that has literally nothing to do with this.
I look forward to your blog post about it.

      • RE Vanella says:

I know it has nothing to do with it. I’m simply noting that there are important issues that others don’t know much about or can’t get their heads around. It doesn’t make them “vague” and it doesn’t mean they aren’t worth engaging with.

        • ben says:

so bring them up where it’s relevant. jfc are you about to go down a “it’s mah freedom of speech” hole now?

You brought it up. So engage.
do you think that Buttigieg crafted the evil plans? what role do you think he had in what? is there anything else you have to say on the matter other than being attacked by Russian conspiracies? IM JUST TRYING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION.

  9. RE Vanella says:

Everyone will notice that the information I linked to was not engage at all.

It’s dismissed out of hand because it’s “vague.” Notice the absurd analogies…

  10. mouse says:

Trump voters don’t like smart guys with class

  11. Alby says:

We keep electing this kind of person again and again — the vague but positive man offering hope and change of an unspecified nature who talks of binding the nation’s wounds.

I see no evidence that this will change.
