How The Forces Of Ee-vil Killed The Gun Bills. The money grafs:

It included a growing guns rights group on Facebook flexing its muscles, gun business owners getting more involved, and pro-gun union members threatening to pull campaign dollars from legislators who supported the bills, according to some gun rights advocates and union leaders.

“The union pressure is what finally sealed the deal,” said Mitch Denham, leader of the 20,000-strong Facebook group Delaware Gun Rights. “When you’re trying to get elected, it costs money to get elected. The person that writes the check, you kind of have to take care of sometimes.”

Two Can Play This Game, Though…:  Salesforce bans retail customers from using its technology to sell guns.

Trump Announces Surprise Tariffs On Mexico. Because…illegal immigrants.  This should really bolster the economy. Not. I guarantee you that grocery prices will rise beginning June 10.

It’s Official: Rethugs Trying To Rig The Census For Political Reasons.  Will the Supreme Court let them? And for those who don’t think that democracy hangs by a thread, this is how we found out:

According to the documents released Thursday, Hofeller — a go-to gerrymandering expert for the GOP who died last August — was commissioned in 2015 by a Republican mega-donor to do a study on the effect of excluding noncitizens from redistricting. The study, which was never made public, concluded that such a redistricting overhaul “would be advantageous to Republicans and Non-Hispanic
Whites” and “would clearly be a disadvantage for the Democrats,” using the Texas legislature as a case study. It warned, however, that such an overhaul would be “unworkable” without a citizenship question being added to the census.

That study and other key Hofeller documents were only obtained by the challengers because his estranged daughter found his back-up hard drives while going through his belongings after his death.
Kim Kills Envoy After Failure Of Kim-Trump Summit. Oh, and 4 other diplomats.  Gee, maybe it’s time for the WWE to do a show there as well as those they’re already doing in Saudi Arabia. How about a diplomat vs. diplomat match? With a loser loses his head stipulation.  Hey, if Bolton was in the match, I’d buy the PPV.

I’ve already noticed that Tariff Mania is driving up prices on all things Chinese made, the same will happen with this latest tariff on Mexico. This game drives the free traders mad, but it’s a high price to pay for tormenting them.

  2. RSE says:

Is this for real? What will she talk about…bathrooms, hammers, and bleach?

I know you imbeciles like to pretend she doesn’t know anything, but that’s just y’all. I don’t like her personality either, but that doesn’t mean she’s unqualified. Just for the sake of comparison, Trump is unqualified. She’s not.

It would do you all a lot of good if you looked at yourselves to understand why you hate her so much.

    • RSE says:

When asked if she wiped her illegal server, Hillary’s reply was, “What, like with a cloth or something?”

      • Alby says:

If you showed this sort of concern over acts like that no matter who the politician was I’d give it some credence. But there’s nothing Hillary has done that Trump hasn’t done worse, so your full-of-shitness is on full display.

    • Dave says:

I admit I have no idea why they hate her so much. Even if one disagrees with her on a policy level, I don’t understand visceral almost apoplectic reaction to her.

What are your thoughts as to why?

      • Alby says:

Straight-up misogyny. Notice that most of these folks train their bile at her but not her husband, who was far worse than her at any of the things they think she’s guilty of.

Notice, please, that Trump isn’t just wiping servers, he destroyed evidence. No concern about that from Lawn Boy, though.

        • Dave says:

          Yeah but,

I don’t recall a similar reaction to Bachman (I would have said Palin, but a lot of people on the right thought she was hot and stupid, so misogyny).

          • Alby says:

Old white guys found Bachman hot, too. Hard to believe, but I had that expressed to me by more than one of them.

Plus, they’re not going to hate on women on their side. Look at their hate list — Hillary, Pelosi, AOC, Ilhan Omar. Starting to see a trend? Sure, there are men on there, too, but women are represented out of proportion to their actual numbers.

            • MFX says:

I don’t know if I qualify as one of your imbeciles, misogynists, old white guys, etc. But for the record, there are a whole lot of us cisgender caucasians that feel Hillary was eminently qualified and yet still highly unlikable. The only candidate I’ve given money to this time around is a woman as is my current second choice.

It seems to me that writing off dislike of Hillary to misogyny across the board is similar to writing off anyone who gets creeped out by Uncle Joe’s touchy feely politics as a man-hater.

              • RE Vanella says:

Fair point. The Jill Stein voter is not a mysogynist.

              • Alby says:

I felt the same; she grated on me, too. But in my case that was probably misogyny.

That said, I prefer Warren and would settle for Harris. Haven’t given any money yet because I place my bets closer to post time.

        • RSE says:

It’s not about “hate” or “misogyny”. Having Hillary Clinton keynote a cyber security summit is like Jeffrey Dahmer being the keynote speaker at a vegan-fest.

          • meatball says:

Hmmm, I don’t think you thought that all the way through, dopey. Was she not perhaps the most famous example of a cyber security breach, according to Robert Mueller?

            • RSE says:

              Exactly!

              • RSE says:

This was taken from the comment section on that Yahoo article, there are some funny ones.

“At this same summit, Casey Anthony will be holding a seminar on the techniques of great parenting.”

              • meatball says:

You really are pretty thick, aren’t you. Being a victim of, ya know a pretty big cyber security breach don’t you think she might have some valuable insight to present?

              • RSE says:

                No.

              • Alby says:

And yet, nobody who matters cares what you think. The people paying her do. Tough shit, bucko.

              • meatball says:

How about if she thought she had her house pretty well covered for WDO….are you really this stoopid, man? If so, there really is no reason to compromise with you idiots…you all must die.

              • Alby says:

It’s all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits.

          • Alby says:

Oh, c’mon. As if this is your only criticism of her.

I was a lot more miffed about her speaking to Goldman Sachs. If you’re getting your jollies making fun of Hillary Clinton, you need a life.

            • RSE says:

Can’t argue with you there. The only time I’ve left the Delmarva Peninsula in the last decade was to have hernia surgery in Wilmington.
