Working Families Party activist Vanessa Clifford joins RE Vanella in the bunker to talk about what Working Families Party is, some of her experiences organizing in Delaware and Pennsylvania, and a new progressive group that is forming here in Delaware.

I’ve mentioned that we are in the process of expanding our operation. Last night Karl the producer put in a huge effort to set-up the software required with our new equipment to record Skype calls.
We had the opportunity to immediately test this by calling our friend Maria Beauchamp, the Puerto Rican activist and part time Wilmington organizer you may remember from episode 16 with Stephanie Herron. The crazy part was Maria was in the streets of San Juan deep in the protests. She marched to “ground zero” in Old San Juan where police initiated protesters for several nights prior.
We were able to chat with her for about 5 minutes while signing and drumming rang and thumped in the background. Later yesterday night the crowd got their first demand satisfied. The governor resigned.
It was an exciting moment in the Bunker. We’ll be releasing it as a bonus episode with some commentary in a few days, but I wanted to share the news with our founding patrons. Tomorrow we’ll drop the regular weekly episode. Vaness Clifford is in the studio with Karl and me. Vanessa is an organizer and activist with the Working Families party. She has strong ties to Delaware generally and a connection to the Bunker specifically!
