Trump Supporters Flock To Fake News Sites.  Bottom line: The endless propaganda from Fox, Limbaugh and the like, and sites like these guarantee that this impeachment will just be ‘us vs. them’.  The only good news is that there are more of ‘us’, if we vote and if we’re allowed to vote. More and more, I think Trump gets reelected while again losing the popular vote. Someone please talk me down.

Supreme Court To Consider Whether There Are Any Limits On Trump’s Power.  Three cases. It all comes down to this. ‘It’ meaning the Republic.

Biden Was WrongWrongWrong On Iraq.  I’m not even talking about his initial vote. I’m talking about his disastrous influence on everything that followed.  A highly-recommended read.

Bloomberg Buys Investigative Website–Fires Half Its Employees.  A taste of things to come–especially if he’s elected.

What do you want to talk about?

    Re: Bloomberg (from WaPo):

A Monmouth University poll found about twice as many registered voters rated Bloomberg negatively as positively — 54 percent unfavorable, 26 percent favorable. That margin was significantly worse than for five other Democratic candidates, as well as for President Trump.

  2. WORST NEWS EVER!!!?

AYFKM? Our (by far) fave special occasion restaurant has been sold, and will be turned into EVERY SINGLE OTHER FUCKING GASTROPUB in Northern Delaware:

    https://www.delawarebusinesstimes.com/domaine-hudson-gets-new-owners/

One of the new owners works literally a block away at the Washington Street Ale House, and he’s gonna turn this into the Washington Street Ale House Part Deux?

I give ’em six months at best. (Clip ‘n save.) Guess it’s Two Stones for us from now on.

Who has a new ‘special occasion’ restaurant to recommend?

    • Alby says:

Don’t be so sure on that six month prediction. He could bring his bar regulars with him.

I’m assuming that the renovation will be an expansion of the bar ($50 K won’t get you much more than that). And they’re not going to be able to meet their nut in a space that small by selling burgers. I would bet it’s going to be a lot like Two Stones and other similar establishments.

As for special-occasion restaurants, sorry, I don’t have any.

    • Point of Order says:

House of William and Merry in Hockessin

Trump being reelected is a sickening possibility at this point, I see it as a reminder that we need to work as hard as we can to defeat the monster and as many of his minions as possible. That and I like Two Stones in Middletown, despite the surrounding suburban sprawl.

    • El Somnambulo says:

We have a Two Stones just off of Naamans Road, and we like it.

But not for special occasion dining.

It’s been awhile since we’ve been to Eclipse, but we’ve always liked it. Time to get reacquainted. Guess we’ll also check out La Fia. Keep those suggestions coming…

      • RE Vanella says:

La Fia is the best restaurant in the city in my opinion. I’m very jaded with regard to Bardea. I mean, yes, it’s good.

Does no one sear foie gras any longer? Gastric? Bueller?

    • RSE says:

With a fig reduction and a nice Sauterne…Barbaric. You should be ashamed.

      • meatball says:

What is your fav in Sussex? I have a few.

        • RSE says:

The last time I had seared foie gras was a few years back at the Pickled Pig, and they only offered it on a burger, a $19 burger. But back in the day it was always Espuma, Celsius, and maybe Back Porch. The old Second St. Grill in Lewes served a veal chop topped with seared foie gras.

          • meatball says:

Two Stones is a spin off of PPP, they still serve that burger for $17. Back Porch Cafe still had it on the menu last I was there, but I always opted for the sweet breads. Now I just sear at home. Veal chops are also hard to find these days.

“We’ll reopen as a high-end gastropub” with a menu that features seafood, soups, and salads, Tony Bomba said. “We’ll be updating the décor by introducing TVs and making seismic changes to the bar, including the addition of draft beer. We’ll still have an extensive collection of wine, but it won’t be the main feature of the restaurant.”

Yes tv, very important to the gourmand. Send more wings and hot sauce, lol. Jesus motherfuckingchristamerica….another chicken wing restaurant?

  6. Mouse says:

The Culinary Coast; Heirloom in Lewes, Blue Moon Rehoboth, Cedar in Bethany, Our Harvest in Fenwick Island.
