McConnell And Schumer Negotiating Impeachment Details.  Gee, I wonder who’s gonna come out ahead there…

City Council Blames Everybody But Themselves In Dispute Over Police Diversity.  They should have held the Police Department’s feet to the fire when they had the chance–during the budgetary process. Now they’re gonna try to stop the current recruits from moving forward?  Idiocy. If there’s one police agency in the state that can least afford to be understaffed, it’s this one.

At Least One R Senator Opposes A Quick Dismissal Of House Charges Against Trump.  Will Moscow Mitch be able to hold a simple majority, if needed, in the Senate against a real trial?

Wall Street Banks Go All-In Against Warren.  Chicken Little scenarios abound.  Me, I wouldn’t mind seeing the sky fall on the one-percenters.

Delaware Business Leaders Produce Report Claiming That Delaware’s Permitting Process Takes Too Long.  Written to spec, of course, its recommendations will likely become law by the end of this legislative session.  The Delaware Way in action.  On stuff like this, Markell and Carney are the same guy.

  1. Alby says:

Jeff Van Drew is reaping the rewards for switching parties. Seven of his senior aides have quit.

    • Alby says:

So let’s strip away the drama and concentrate on the real story here: A centrist Dem quit the party when challenged from the left. This, folks, is why you primary the Chris Coonses of the world.

Van Drew is a freshman in Congress but started his way up from local to state to federal office back in 1991, when Clinton’s “third way” policies looked like the Democratic Party’s salvation.

Those policies served politicians like Van Drew well for almost 30 years, but they are now outdated, as evidenced by the fact that 70% of his own party’s voters said they’d vote against him for opposing impeachment.

Not many Democrats are in as vulnerable a position as Van Drew, but modern politicians have the sensitivity to danger of a rabbit in an open field. They will learn fairly quickly that they’ll either have to move left or move out.

  2. RE Vanella says:

“Carly Fiorina says it is ‘vital’ Trump be impeached, but doesn’t rule out voting for him in 2020”

That headline tells everyone everything they need to know.

  3. bamboozer says:

Coons definitely has the potential to be another Van Drew and vote against impeachment, but I think he would stop short of going Republican because that would really light a fire under his coming primary.

  4. DontKnowDontCare says:

Why would be anybody listen to a failed WDEL radio host?
