NYTimes Coronavirus Coverage Is Free.  Check back here early and often for updates.  Let’s see…Fed cuts interest rates almost to zero, presumably to save Trump’s hide; doesn’t appear to be working, though; CDC says no gatherings of more than 50 people; utter chaos at airports; deaths in Italy skyrocket; everything’s closing.  Shit’s as real as it’s ever gotten.  BTW, does this look like social distancing to you?:

Trump Administration Tried To Buy Exclusive Rights To Possible German Vaccine.  Fuck the rest of the world. 

Who Doesn’t Offer Paid Sick Leave?  Pretty much everybody in the retail, food & hospitality, and grocery businesses.   BTW:

Democrats initially proposed including a permanent paid sick leave requirement in the coronavirus package. But business groups raised their eyebrows and Republicans insisted on its removal. It is a decision for which Americans should hold businesses accountable.

And politicians.

Seems Like A Good Time To Pardon Michael Flynn, Don’tchathink?  Typhoid Tangerine thinks so.   Might as well pardon ’em all while nobody’s paying attention.

Biden Pledges To Pick A Female Veep.  I have visions of Stacey Abrams or Elizabeth Warren. I pray that Biden doesn’t have visions of Amy Klobuchar.

    I’m guessing there will be some sort of limited temporary universal basic income plan associated with the pandemic, and once the crisis is over, I wonder if it will be difficult to end the program. Maybe they won’t even want to end it.
