Delaware’s 1 Degree of Separation: Take the Poll
In Delaware if you know where someone went to High School, you will find someone you know in common. I’m connected to Senator Laura Sturgeon, for example, through a Seaford HS friend of hers.
SO who has it? Take the poll.
You identified this virus as corvid 19. corvid is the genus that includes crows, ravens, bluebirds, jackdaws. Covid 19 is the name of this virus. Check your poll spelling. BTW, some of us know of no infections in our circles.
I knew all of that, so if you got some smug satisfaction out of telling me about Clovis’s, it was unearned.
BTW-that was typo as well. I know that “Clovis culture” is a prehistoric Paleoamerican culture, named for distinct stone tools found near Clovis, New Mexico,
I don’t personally “know” anyone infected, I have now personally tested 16 positives. I have worn the same PPE for the last 16 days. Where is my Lowes discount? Is Ford ready to step up with incentives for Frontline “workers?” LOL. Humans.
My daughter-in-law’s cousin on Long Island died of it.

Clovis? You’re hallucinating!
You will find spell-checking Jason330 an endless task.
I turned off most of my “checking” functions when I had to go back and fix what I had spelled correctly. Jason is what, a blogger? A pro blogger? And I’m sorry, but Jason actually called me out for attempting to fact-shame him about the Clovis People of the American Southwest. Did I mention the Clovis People? No. Did Jason completely misread my tone? Yes. It was his poll, didn’t he want people to be reassured that he knew what he wanted polled? Perhaps the explanation is easier, Jason should have said “no” to the 6th bourbon, and turned in to get some much needed sleep.
As I was saying, his spelling has always been atrocious.
He purposely misspelled it himself, as Clovis, in his reply to you. He was making a joke, while also correcting it on the poll question.
What was your intended tone? I read it as pedantic, and I think he did, too, which is why he responded snarkily.
And no, he’s not a “pro blogger.” We’re all volunteers, and I think we’re all bozos on this bus.
“I Think We’re All Bozos On This Bus” is a phenomenon I can relate to. Why are you responding in Jason’s stead?
What else is there to do in self-isolation?
Also, you seem like a person who likes straight talk, and that’s not Jason’s forte. I speak Jason, so I thought I’d translate for you.
As a 35 year teacher, pedantic is at least authentic. But it’s on you both that you missed the benevolent underpinnings…
I thought you were neutral about it. Jason was trying to make a self-deprecating joke, which is his usual mode of engagement.
Honest, if he was angry, there would have been a lot more blue language in his response.
I MIGHT have a friend with it, but she’s been waiting 11 days for the results of her test.
My sad fate to grow up on Long Island (no, I don’t miss it). But it means I can’t play the Delaware game of “Where did you go to high school?” which seems an obsession for many. And I don’t know anyone who is infected either, neither do I want to. But the pandemic is advancing, and I fear that soon I will know people that have it.
Well, you can play the where did you go to high school game with me. You go first.
On our Nextdoor site (neighborhood social media) somebody posted “Hi all, Is there anyone who can do gel nails (real) mani/pedi privately? My nails look terrible.”
Worse, several people replied saying “Me too! Let me know if you find someone!” And others offered names and contact info for nail techs, including at least one herself. To Nextdoor’s credit, the post and thread was removed after about a day.
“My nails look terrible.”
That should be carved on humanity’s headstone.
Jason

Weird wording as Laura S. is a Bandywine grad. But yeah, I’d guess she’d have friends at other H.S. as well. We went to elem. school together and worked at the same place when in H.S. Always seemed like a very nice person but same planet; different worlds. That sort of thing. I used to deliver papers to Bill Roth down on Darley Rd. Really nice guy who would ask how it’s going when he was out as I passed by. Saw Joe Biden across the lawn, once. I like to tell out of state friends that everyone in DE has met George Thorogood although I never have. That’s about the extent of my exposure to DE notables.
Oh this is about Covid-19? Need a fifth option, none of the above. So far and, although unlikely, I hope forever :-/
I am confused, are you saying Sen. Sturgeon has COVID?
Hey, I once set up a microphone for Joe Biden when he was the commencement speaker for a high school graduation. Does that count?
Yes.
