Everything Falls Apart, Ctd.  The latest carnage? 124,686 cases in the US, 2191 deathsCoronavirus comes to Oklahoma, its denialist governor has to do a 180.  You remember him, the guy who took his whole family out to eat at a crowded restaurant. Florida’s Governor and the future of scapegoating.  Hint-he won’t take the blame himself.  Neither will Trump.

Charles Koch Pushed CDC Cuts, Now Opposing Shelter-In-Place Because ‘Business’.  The harm this family has done is incalculable. Why stop now?

  1. RSE says:

Cuomo is basically saying that New Yorkers will go anywhere they want… If we get sick, everyone gets sick..That’s the way she goes…We’re New Yorkers and we do what we want….. Gov. Cuomo, please don’t let partisan politics or hubris get in the way of common sense.

    • Alby says:

Good to see you’re right in lockstep with Trump & Co. Someone has to be to blame, amirite?

      • RSE says:

Don’t blame anyone… Just restrict flow from higher concentrations to lower concentrations…New York City is the epicenter of the virus in the US.

        • meatball says:

Just another dildo that doesn’t understand science. Global climate change doesn’t mean dick to the grass cutters of America, fuck you, douche bag.

          • RSE says:

Climate change? BTW, do you have disdain for all people who do manual labor, or just people in the lawn care industry?

        • John Kowalko says:

How about that epicenter of stupidity that you and the “orange viper” represent. In Trump’s case there has obviously been a “restriction of flow” (blood to the brain no doubt) resulting in “highly concentrated” absurdity and narcissism.
          Rep. Kowalko

          • RSE says:

Well, apparently a doctor agrees with me, and now so does the governor.

“Douglas Allen, medical director of Beebe Walk-in Care, issued this announcement prior to Gov. John Carney revising his State of Emergency declaration Sunday, March 29.”

“I am a doctor who lives and works in Sussex County. We are seeing a great number of out-of-state visitors (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia among others)”

“The governor needs to address this. These people are not coming to New Castle or Kent counties – just Sussex. The governor of Rhode Island did address this at the border of Rhode Island for New York people fleeing the epicenter in New York City. I feel we need to do something to discourage this selfish behavior. ‘Shelter at home’ does not mean drive to your beach vacation house to escape the COVID-19 virus – this just imports it into our local medical system.”

            • RSE says:

I’m still working all week performing a needed service…What are you doing Rep. kowalko? You know..besides demeaning people who offer practical solutions.

              • Alby says:

Turns out building your economy on out-of-staters doesn’t work out so well in such a situation. Who could have known, amirite?

              • RSE says:

                Agreed.

              • Alby says:

Lots of upstaters, including some lawmakers, also have homes at the beach. They, too, can leave their more densely populated area for their vacation homes.

This is happening all over the country, not just in eastern Sussex. And it’s stupid, because hospitals in less-populated areas don’t have the resources to treat more than their off-season population.

              • John Kowalko says:

Right, Don’t want to demean your “orange peel idol” (hey remember when Jesus appeared on that piece of toast? If the Trump image appears on an orange I’m gonna copyright that name) ) but I don’t think I’ll be at Holy Angels celebrating this Easter Sunday. I also don’t think we’ll have enough troops to blockade every exit road out of N.Y. I imagine we can arrest and torture all of those medical providers in New York who “LeGrande Orange” accused of stealing/hoarding those face-masks to show us where they’re stashed. Also rather than “demean” his “practical solutions” offered I want to commend him on his magnificent, best of all time, record setting TV ratings (his tweet) for his press conferences/performances where he has offered so many enlightening suggestions and “practical solutions”.

  2. Ben says:

    I believe Tara Reade.
Biden is toast. There is still a chance to nominate a decent person.

    • Alby says:

Given her statements about Russia and Putin, she’s not going to make the most credible accuser.

Not only is Biden not toast, he’s unlikely to lose the nomination, unless you think his overwhelming support from African-Americans will evaporate over this. My Magic 8 Ball says “Don’t count on it.”

      • Point of Order says:

I think the real difficulty will be her response last year when asked specifically about sexual assault. She denied it at the time. Much will be made of her denial of assistance from the MeToo foundation. But they don’t get political. There was a rather strong denial from the campaign. Timing is seriously curious, who is passing attention to non-covid coverage (not that we shouldn’t be) these days?

  3. bamboozer says:

I’ve read comments from fellow Delawareans that verge on advocating a genocide of the old and sick, the “go back to work” comments of the rich and hyper rich are little different and show a contempt for life as they worship their god of gold. When your society is driven by the insatiable greed of corporations this is what you get. As ever I’m an Atheist that finds myself a better Christian then a great many believers.

  4. Total Beach says:

In Delaware all you need to stay open is a checkbook and a lobbyist. Just ask the gun shop owners.
