Lisa Blunt Rochester Would Like You to Know that She Wrote a Letter

Completely fucking useless.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), (and bipartisans!) joined in urging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to do everything it can to ensure that air-monitoring networks and air monitors that are critical to informing public health protections remain in operation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What fucking planet does this useless fucking waste of space live on?

Less than a year she’ll be Secretary of State. 8 years after that VP. And 8 years after that….

  2. Alby says:

    Not bloody likely.

Have you ever seen a Congressional delegation with less of a sense of urgency in a crisis than ours? It’s been three months and all three of them might be in suspended animation for a trip to Mars for all the use they’ve been.

And yet some people have the nerve to wonder why Democrats fail so miserably at inspiring the public.

  3. jason330 says:

    Uselessness personified.

  4. Al Catraz says:

If any important national crisis comes up, I’m sure she’ll have something to say to us.

This is just a relaxed period of history in which nothing of consequence is going on.

  5. El Somnambulo says:

    Heh. Heh-heh.

  6. jason330 says:

Even if “air-monitoring networks” are the critical (and they might be?) – how much more useless could a letter “urging” Trump’s EPA to do something be? It is the secular version of sending thoughts and prayers.

Sending a letter allows her to put out a press release saying she did something, when we all know she really didn’t do a fucking thing.

I think this is true – that LBR won’t sign any policy letter unless Republicans are also signing, so as not to appear “partisan.” Prove me wrong.

I think she has reliably voted with Democrats on party-line votes, but only because Democrats were guaranteed to lose.

The real test for our delegation is if Dems gain slim majorities and our center-right delegation is among the deciding votes on progressive legislation. Do they want to form a coalition with Democrats or with Republicans?

It is maddening that LBR and Carpoons won’t release any communication unless it prominently features the word “bipartisan” like some kind of mantra. The message is “I’m not really a Democrat and I feel more comfortable working with Republicans,” But today’s Republicans are not the kind of people we should be reaching across the aisle to.

  8. jason330 says:

The bipartisan mania would be somewhat understandable if Delaware was West Virginia or Montana. Being the Republicans favorite Democrats might be reasonable if the seats were hanging by a thread…But Delaware is solidly Democratic. These seats are fucking sinecures for Dems.

All this bipartisan bowing-and-scraping is just utterly disgusting.

  9. Mouse says:

That’s what I hate about this state the most. My only choice is voting for a self serving, do nothing corporate own hubris Democrat because the Republicans can’t even field someone who isn’t a nutcase.

    • mediawatch says:

The Republicans field nutcases because they recognize that the Dems we elect will manage to do their bidding.

  10. Stanley says:

PRIMARY HER! I don’t care if its to her right, left, or whatever. I can’t name a thing she has done. I’ll vote for that acting guy over her at this point.
