When Carper and Coons Announce How Committed to Racial Justice They Have Been Let that Utter Impotence Ring in Your Ears

I’m bracing myself for statements Dr. Martin Luther Coons and Malcom Carper.

  1. Dan says:

Let Coons’s deciding vote, in order to “respect the concerns” of law enforcement, tanking Obama’s pick to protect the Voting Rights Act never be forgotten:

    https://www.coons.senate.gov/news/press-releases/statement-from-senator-coons-on-vote-on-nomination-of-debo-adegbile

Coons tanked a guy who was going to protect George Floyd’s right to vote out of respect for Derek Chauvin’s concerns. Remember that when the sanctimony comes forth.

    • Of all the things that Coons has done, that, IMO, is the most unforgiveable. Jellyfish have more backbone. For those of you who have forgotten, the nominee had a very peripheral pro-bono legal involvement in the Mumia Abu Jamal case. A bunch of cops met with Coons, threw the ongoing ‘victimhood’ of Daniel Faulkner’s widow in his face, and Coons deep-sixed the best hope for voting rights that we had.

Meaning, to Coons, the life of Faulkner’s widow matters more to him than the lives of all the blacks who are merely pursuing the right to vote free of intimidation. Why should any black person vote for him?

  2. Jason330 says:

I’m looking forward to Coons advocating for the middle ground position between police murdering black people and police not murdering black people.

  3. Mouse says:

Doesn’t Delaware have anyone to primary these defacto republicans ?

    • mediawatch says:

Carper was primaried two years ago. Didn’t work.
Coons will be primaried this year. Some are expecting a different outcome. I’m not.

      • bamboozer says:

Sadly me neither, she does not seem to be attracting much attention.

        • Jason330 says:

It would be tough under normal circumstances…wiith coronavirus, an order of magnitude tougher.

By raising money 24/7/365 but only being required to run every 6 years, a senate seat is a lifetime sinecure.

If you need evidence, just look at how Coons treats actual Delawareans with utter contempt. Just look at someone like Mitch McConnell. The Senate, like the electoral college, is designed to ensure minority rule.
