Supreme Court Backs Restrictions On Voting In Alabama.  A late Thursday night decision before the holiday weekend. 5-4, of course.

Trump Campaign Vs. Omarosa.  Rampant harassment backed by an illegal NDA: Government employees can’t be bound by NDA’s. First Amendment, you know.

Barr Fires SDNY Head Berman. Successor He Didn’t Want Indicts Ghislaine Maxwell.  We wondered ‘why now?’ when Berman was fired. Could this be what Barr sought to prevent?  What other denizens of Pedophile Island could be indicted?

Is This How Trump Could Hold The White House After Losing?  Unlikely, but with Trump, you never know.

Trump’s Pity Party.  “What do I do, what do I do?’  Read for enjoyment, not for complacency.

Project Airbridge Was A Bust.  You know, the Czar Of Everything Jared Kushner’s intervention into the distribution of PPE. Oh, and with, of course, more than a whiff of corruption:

The most intriguing revelation from the report is that the Trump administration pressured private medical supply companies it was working with to buy PPE at inflated prices from a Chinese electric car and battery company called BYD, which stands for Build Your Dreams. BYD is subsidized by the Chinese government, and the committee noted that last year, Congress banned federal funds from going to electric buses made by state-owned enterprises, including BDY.

A highly-recommended read.

Sen. Duckworth Holds Up Military Promotions To Protect Colonel Vindman, Who Testified In Impeachment Trial.  She’s not afraid of anything or anyone.

Disastrous Record Day For Coronavirus Cases.  A record-shattering 55,000-plus cases. In one day.  Texas Governor Abbott, who has quaked in fear over approbation from his nutjob Lt. Governor, reverses himself and makes mask-wearing mandatorySomething Fla. Governor Ron DeSantis won’t do.  Even though virtually all of Florida is red on this map. Don’t like the trend I’m seeing in Tennessee either.

What do you want to talk about?

Was not hard to see that at some point Florida would become an end to end hot spot and glow bright red, equally easy to see that DeSantis would go for money over human life. Would call Carney DeSantis Junior (in the grand tradition of Delaware put downs) as the beaches remain open here and jammed full of people from out of state. Dr. Fauci’s prediction of a potential 100,000 infections in a day is coming true.

Considering the historical whipping post that has been removed from the colonial courthouse in Georgetown, I sort of wonder about the crucifix being a symbol of Christianity.
It’s interesting that so many people would embrace a torture device. Could there be a time when someone would wear or display a small whipping post or some other symbol of oppression to honor those who suffered, and as a sign of perseverance and strength?
