Happy Thanksgiving everybody.  Stay safe. Hang in there. Help is on the way.

Supreme Court Gives OK For Spread Of Virus At Religious Services.  Amy Coney Barrett the decisive vote in the 5-4 decision:

The larger question in the two cases was whether government officials or judges should strike the balance between public health and religious exercise.

The judges ruled that they, the judges, were best situated to make those decisions.  Loads of lawsuits to follow. Vaccine can’t get here soon enough.

The NRA Admits Financial Wrongdoing.  Probably the most flagrant offender is Wayne Lapierre.  He still works there. Still runs the NRA, in fact. Their admission is just the tip of the iceberg, though.

Comcast, An Evil Corporation, To Raise Fees Again. Claims that carrier costs are increasing despite owning one of the principal carriers (click for the headline, stay for the article).  Guess it’s  time for Fast Eddie Rendell to start shuffling around congressional offices again.

A List Of Trump’s Controversial Pardons.  Destined to grow longer real soon.

We Came Really Close To Fascism-With-No-Return.  Only the incompetence of the would-be fascists did them in.  An historical perspective.

Mayor Purzycki Calls Police Review Board Ineffective.  He’s got a point.  The Review Board can be stymied by, wait for it, the ‘Police Bill Of Rights’.  Will the Senate pass legislation limiting the scope of that act?  Will the House go along?

What do you want to talk about?

Yearn for the day when a president or congress tells the supreme court to go fck itself, judicial review is mentioned nowhere in the constitution and is an invention of the court itself. The politicians are bad enough, but the court routinely has made law as in Citizens United decision, that is a function reserved to congress. The same for Trump using executive orders to change taxes, once again the power of the purse is reserved to congress. The constitution has been amended 27 time, firmly believe another 27 are badly needed.

I’m sure other would-be, less incompetent fascists have been taking notes.
