‘No Realistic Path’…to $2000 relief checks.  There is, of course, a path.  Requires a Democratic Senate, though.

Sen. Perdue Made His Bones By Outsourcing Work To China.  Now claims he wants to end our ‘reliance on China’.  These two senators are so fucking corrupt, but the D’s suck at nailing them on this stuff.

Welcome To Your Post-Presidency, Donald.  You’re gonna be neck-deep in criminal and civil litigation. Sad.

Fed Vaccine Rollout A Disaster.  Promise 40 million doses by year’s end, provide 14 mill.  Trump sez it’s the states’ responsibility.  Uh, not if they can’t get the doses.

Biden Vows To Move Quickly On Judges.  There are some 43 district court vacancies.  See Item 1 above.

NH R Governor Cancels Inaugural Ceremony…because of armed protesters opposed to his mandatory mask policy.

How Trump And Azar Destroyed HHS Even Before Covid.  Reaching across the aisle to your old college buddy was far from a rousing success, was it, Chris?  Betcha the 340,000 dead won’t come up at your next college reunion. A must-read.

Was The Secret Service Politicized?  Looks like some in the Secret Service leadership think so, and are taking steps to address it before Biden becomes President.

WHO WANTS TO JOIN OUR TEAM?: We are especially looking for someone to write the Open Thread.  With (hopefully) a normal General Assembly cycle this year, I want to get back to complete legislative coverage, and I just want time to do some more long-form pieces in 2021.  Not to mention, I plan to return to work on Feb. 1.  You can bring your own ideas for formatting and what you want to cover to the Open Thread, it’s entirely up to you.  DD over at Blue Delaware has a completely different approach, as do Al and Jason right here when they fill in. Hey, you can also write other stuff as well.  Interested? Drop a message at the tip line, and we’ll follow up.

Here’s hoping that 2021 brings a return to normal life.  Not just because of Covid, but because the relentlessness of the Trump years has impacted us in ways we won’t even understand until we’re at least rid of him.

What do you want to talk about?

Touche. Great arguments. Keep up the amazing work.

  2. Alby says:

The problem with Loeffler/Perdue isn’t that the Democrats can’t nail them on stuff. It’s that their voters don’t give a shit.

    • I disagree. D voters are so used to seeing their elected officials act in (at best) a half-assed manner, that they have come to accept it. Or at least absorb it in a manner to permanently lower expectations.

The R’s are so skilled at turning the most trivial matter into chants at rallies.

      D’s…aren’t.

      • Alby says:

I’m talking about Republican voters. They don’t give a shit that Loeffler and Perdue are crooked. No chant is going to change their minds.

And if the only way to convince people to do what’s intelligent is to manufacture chants at rallies, well, that’s all the evidence needed to declare democracy a failed experiment.

Nice to see the slack jawed gun protestors are showing their love for Republicans as well as the Dems, makes ending the sick game easier if it’s both sides. And here’s a shout out to the clowns that legalized “open carry” and brought back the wild west to politics. That and I agree with Alby, criminality is acceptable to the Republicans, Trump is your proof, but there are many others.

  4. Just got a fundraising e-mail from Kathy McGuiness. Didja know her fundraising deadline is midnight tonight? Which reminded me…

…someone needs to run against her as the antidote to the Delaware Way. McGuiness and Wagner have largely kept its worst excesses from the public view.

I think that someone running against her in a D primary to hold the miscreants accountable would put an end to her little vanity project.
